I lived in Indian Ridge Apartments from November 2007 to November 2009. I lived in building B, and really had no complaints. The parking was decent, the appliances and layout were fine, and I never really had issues. My only complaints: I would find at least one spider crawling across my living room carpet on a daily basis, the rent was a bit pricey (and kept going up on a yearly basis), and I once had a leak from the bathroom above me. Overall it was a good experience.

I lived at Indian Ridge for 4 years: half a year in the older buildings and 3.5 in the "newer" ones. I say "newer" because even those have a very old feel to them inside. First the good stuff. The area is great; it's in a pretty quiet neighborhood away from the city even though it's really not that far away. Management was very nice, at least in my experiences with them. The layout of the new buildings is great; it's very open concept. No problem getting a parking spot, the mailboxes are right in front of the buildings, and laundry is located at every building (not in the unit itself and only in the newer buildings; the older ones are arranged a bit differently). Now the stuff that's not so good. The appliances in the "new" buildings seem, and probably are, older than the "older" building appliances. Some of my doors/windows didn't seem probably sealed and it was fairly easy for cold air to get in during the winter. All that equates to a 1 star deduction in my mind. But the big thing that sucks is the current prices. I moved into the newer buildings in May '06 for $710 for a 2BR, which was probably at or near the top of the list in price at the time for complex rentals in the area. My last lease was signed in May '09 for $820 and I'm pretty sure it was up again when I left in Sept '09. 15% increase in 3 years in a market where prices in the market have gone in the toilet??? Seems to me like the landlord is just dumping his financial problems on the tenants, but that's just my uneducated opinion. This alone is a 1 star deduction and I should almost knock off 2, but I feel a 2 star rating is too harsh for a fairly nice place. $820 for an unfurnished 2BR in the Binghamton area is massively expensive compared to other places in the area and it would almost be worth it if the "newer" buildings looked like new buildings, you know, something built/furnished this decade?? or even last decade?? Seriously, my stove had an analog clock on it that I had to turn a knob to get the number dials to rotate and the thermostat didn't have a digital readout so I had to read a little red indicator on a number line to see what it thought the temperature was. Hopefully they update that place soon and bring it into the 2000's. Overall, I do feel it's a nice place to live if you've got the budget.
