Management is the most unprofessional group we have ever experienced...They appointmented an new person that is too inexperienced for the position and has just destroyed what was once a great place to live. In fact we were here for almost seven years and once the ownership changed all rules and some laws were just discarded. Highly recommend looking at the other complexes in surrounding areas, which do not let just anyone in that wants in. Its a shame , Fairview is hurting enough and now Long Acre Ponds is headed if not already headed towards the bottom. Martin Simpson
Parking - Not enough. We live in a one bedroom apartment and end up having to walk the equivalent of 3 city blocks to get home after we park our cars. There are garages available for an extra $75 a month but these are usually always taken by other residents and there are not enough for everyone. If you manage to lease one, you are leasing 1/2 of the garage space and another tenant that lives in some other random apartment gets the other side. There are also car ports but renting these would be a waste of money because everyone parks in them, even those NOT paying for it. When we tried to complain we were told that they were not able to do anything about it and to just "deal with it". Noise - The walls here are thick and I can never hear my neighbors on the sides... The ceilings, however, are paper thin and I can hear my neighbors gangster rap at all hours of the day. We live on the bottom floor and are even able to hear the dog all the way up on the third floor barking at times. Grounds - The grounds here are nothing special. A few ponds with fountains in them and a short running path leads through the center of the buildings. Nobody ever picks up their dog's waste though. On a hot summer day you can catch the scent of fresh dog droppings wafting through the air. The buildings are not kept up with very well either. They are pressure washed maybe twice a year and the lack of regular cleaning allows a multitude of spider webs to build up around the door frames. They buildup because there is a light that has no switch available to the tenant which comes on at dusk. Various forms of mosquitoes, flies and moths love this light and they also love to come inside when we open our door. Spiders also love the light because it brings them food. Spiders also like to come inside and follow the bugs. Spiders like to make a permanent residence in our home, as do ants at random intervals. I once killed a spider the size of a dinner roll in our house. Safety - It does not seem unsafe here. There is a lot of lighting and the police occasionally drive through to check on things. Construction - VERY poorly constructed. In their hurry to erect the buildings they must have cut a lot of corners. Cheap drywall, poor carpet installation, cheap windows, water leaking into the closet, and badly painted.
The drywall is very thin and even seems to nick up and even crumble when looking at it the wrong way. The paint they used is cheap and has rubbed off in certain areas. The carpet has peeled back from the metal border near the front entrance and I suspect that because the foundation is cracked on the porch we have a water leak in our bedroom closet. We opened out closet to find a large section of mold had taken up a space of about 5 square feet on two walls and was growing onto all of our things. We quickly killed the mold and pitched out all of our belongings with mold on them but there is a large black stain on the wall and I suspect that the mold may be on the inside. Another place we get mold is around our window sills. We scrub the sills weekly in the winter because that's when it grows the most. The heat leaves a lot of condensation near the windows which aren't properly sealed and let lots of cold air in. Cold air plus heat makes lots of moisture. Let me just say, before I finish, that we are very clean people. My fiance is in the military and I am a former Marine so these issues are not because of uncleanliness. This place sucks and when our lease is up in a few months we plan on leaving this place far, far behind. If you are looking for an overly expensive, superficially good looking and poorly constructed place to live, then this is the place for you. If you want to live somewhere where your house won't fall apart on you and the mold doesn't creep out from the walls onto your things, then move somewhere else.
