Washer/dryer situation is bad. Only one washer/dryer set per building, and they are tiny! Can only fit half a load in there. My husband in I moved in here as newlyweds, and the first thing we noticed is that the toilet was broken. We notified the office several times over the next two days, because a toilet is an essential thing. Maintenance came and replaced the whole thing, but left the old one sitting in the grass in front of our apartment. Then we left for our honeymoon. The screen of the apartment's window was torn up from the previous tenant's cat, and maintenance replaced the screen while we were gone AND LEFT THE WINDOW OPEN. For a week, that window was left open for any burglar who felt like stealing our stuff. Nothing went missing, but the fact that the window was left open in the first place is very disconcerting. We've only had problems with one set of our neighbors, but they moved out after 3 months. Still, the problem wouldn't have existed if Mallgate would fix the damn floor. The people below us were super pissed and told us it sounded like we were jumping around when we were just walking normally, and I was super pissed because they had no right complain about noise because we heard them arguing every night. Called the cops on them one night because it sounded like they were beating each other up. Very glad that ghetto trash moved out. The pool was only open for half of the season it was supposed to be, due to "maintenance issues". Our brand new toilet ended up malfunctioning, constantly running water all night and making it hard to sleep due to noise. Also, our lock started sticking so bad that the key would hardly turn. The office was notified, and the girl there didn't even put the issue into the computer! When I went back two months later to complain about the request being ignored, the office worker couldn't even find the request I had put in. The only thing that I like about this place is Dee. Bless her heart, that woman works so damn hard. I'm sure that if it wasn't for her working here, this place would fall apart in a heap. Dee gets things done. If by some misfortune of your life you end up having to live here, be nice to Dee. She's the only one that can get maintenance off their lazy asses.
Cannot wait to move out! They bribe residents with $5 starbucks gift cards to write 5 star reviews. We constantly told maintanence that the sub floor underneath the carpet was breaking, uneven and had screws poking up through the carpet. They did nothing. Our water was cut off without notice and when I called the office, they had no idea what was going on. Then called back and said the water would be back on in 15 mins due to maintanence. It came back on 3 hrs later. It just got bought by a new company called Shamrock who is not following any legal obligation in the lease. They are giving notices fo rent prices, 3 weeks after your lease notice is required so that you have to pay $200 more for at least one month even if you renew. You get charged to have a gym key and they never have any available. I can hear literally EVERY step my upstairs neighbors make. Do NOT move here, you WILL regret it.
This place is nasty. Somebody always put their garbage in the laundry room for days before the maintenance crew pick them up. The stairs are dirty. They don't have people to clean up or sweep the stairs. Laundry room dirty. Washer/dryer broke half the time. Dog poops all over the place. The pool is nice, but plenty of geese/ducks poops in the pool. Some tried to get into my apartment while I was home. My next door neighbor's car got shot.
Awful awful awful place to live. My fiance and I lived here for about 2 months before my car got shot 3 times. Not to mention, the neighbors below us never tended to their dog so it was always barking and making noise during "quiet hours". They have only one washer and dryer to about 12 units. They have an enormous pool, which was nice. They also have a 24 hour gym, with out dated equipment and half of it was broken. But to be able to use it 24 hours, you have to pay an additional $20 for a key card to have access into the building. The management though, they are fantastic people. But, I just would not recommend living here to anyone that has children, or would like to keep their sanity. The police are constantly being called here and it just really makes me uneasy, and makes me feel unsafe.
As close to a ghetto as you can be and still be in 40207. DON'T rent here if you have any other options.
