We have lived here for 2 years and plan to stay here longer (as long as rental rates dont go high). Office staff and maintenance guys are GREAT! Every maintenance issue has been addressed promptly and professionally. They have just painted all buildings, and trim! The office and fitness centers were recently updated, the grounds are/have always been well manicured. As far as i am concerned, this is a GREAT place to live!

Starting from the top: 1) When I first moved in, I was tripping the circuit breaker with my hair dryer. It did not matter which outlet I plugged into, it would create a trip. Also, if I plugged my hair dryer into my bathroom outlet, it would trip the fuses for the bedroom. I am not electrician or an expert, but to the best of my knowledge the bathroom wiring should not be in sequence with a bedroom. After 3 trips from maintenance, they finally listened to me and upgraded the circuit breaker to have greater capacity. Electrical problems sure are comforting..not. 2) I noticed after a hard rain in the fall that my chimney leaked even with the flue closed. I put in a maintenance request for them to come fix it. They left a notice saying they looked at it. It rained again, it still leaked. I notified the front office and was informed they needed to bring out a roofing specialist to look at the chimney. All I have to say is, my chimney still leaks. 3) Your electricity bill is going to be high and bugs will get in. The huge glass doors are not energy efficient by any means. Even when locked, the front door lacks a seal, you can see daylight pass through and bugs will get in. June bugs have gotten in, that is how big the openings are. Just imagine how much heated and cooled air also gets out. 4) Perhaps it is just my building, but my neighbors have not been quiet or respectful. My neighbors below me would play music obnoxiously loud through all hours of the night and during the week. I had asked them several times to quiet it down after 10 pm, but it never prevented future disturbances. I called the front desk the first night it occurred only to be directed to a 3rd party that won't hand noise complaints and was informed that the complex doesn't handle the issue until I notify and file an official police complaint. These neighbors would also smoke enough weed that I could smell it in my apartment located above. I moved away from college complexes to avoid this problem, not to deal with even worse neighbors. 5) They don't stick to time frames. Situation #1: the were switching out the washer/dryers in each unit and we were given a 3 day time frame. They came and got my washer/dryer on day 1, but didn't bring a new set until 5 days later. Because of this, I had no clue when they would be entering my apartment. Situation #2: They notified us that they were going to be painting the complex and it would take no more than 90 days. I got a notice when it came time to paint my building to remove everything from the balcony for the next week while they worked on our building. It took them 3 weeks. In the meantime, my patio furniture was shoved in my master bedroom. And after all the delay, the workmanship of the painters is horrible. They have missed spots, left rotten wood, and left their trash around. 6) The parking lot needs to be repaved. There is a large pothole in the center of the drive that they keep placing gravel into in hopes to fill it, instead of actually fixing the problem. 7) God forbid you even dare ask to break your lease a week early. Nope, not happening, don't even think about it because they will charge you an asinine fee that is greater than 1 month's rent. So you're stuck. I was informed when I first moved in that they would work with me if I decided to move, but they switched management companies, fired the property manager and now that leniency is gone. When I first moved in, I thought the place was decent and I didn't mind the agency that managed the facility, but since they have switched to a new company, despite all the "changes" they are making, I feel the residents are getting the short end of the stick.

My family has lived here for about a year now and for about 11 months we were prepared to move once the lease was up. We absolutely love the community and area but the building and apartment we lived in just didnt seem worth the amount we paid. We've had issues from the day we moved in that we got too busy and tired to keep putting maintenance requests in for. However, a new management company took over and they have been making some beautiful improvements to the community. I was very happy that the last maintenance request we placed was handled very promptly and resolved on the first visit. My husband fell in love with the changes made to the fitness center and Im excited about the facelift the exterior of the community is getting. Needless to say we decided to renew our lease because we loved the community and the changes that are being made. Still have some unresolved issues in our apartment but we'll get to it! For now this is home :)

these people seem nice at first.... then ruthless! my roommate lost his job and we were going to be just a little late on rent. mind you we haven't been late in over three years! so we called and talked to them and said if we don't come up with all the money plus a fee for being late by the tenth we get evicted. are you f***¡?@$ kidding me?!?! we are such great tenants and you do this to us???? also with horrible service and maintenance track records and on top of raising the rent EVERY year Reafield makes apartment living a horrible experience.... we're starting to look for a new place as SOON as this lease is up! don't live here!

I have been here for a year. I found the office very helpful as I tried to do things while moving long distance with a spouse still out of state. I havent had many issues but when I have I have found the office to be responsive. The other reviewer is right about the late rent, however, it is stated in the lease and I've rented at several places over the years and this is standard. I have been late twice and was told the same thing. Same with rental rates increasing-not happy about it but standard when renting to see an increase-mine was about 3%. Its not fancy but its nice enough, quiet and comfortable.
