Coming from city of Chicago it`s like a piece of heaven here, lots of acess to shopping,quite, I should`ve moved out here long time ago!!!

I had the most terrible experience living here. Don't get me wrong....the place is beautiful and I loved the scenery when I would go on my daily walks. The groundskeepers kept the place looking nice year round. I even enjoyed the neighbors I met while living there. The unit I rented had a newly remodeled kitchen and bathroom...it was very nice. That is all the good things I could say about the property. Being a past home owner....I've owned 2 homes so far. A condo and a town home in Aurora, IL. I moved back out here 2 years ago and rented at the Mansards for a year. In my short while living there, I went very quickly from loving where I lived to HATING it! Management was to blame for that and Maintenance....(not to be confused with groundskeepers...THEY actually DO their jobs!!! ) During my residency, I was hassled and harassed by various employees of the property. They made me feel so unwelcome eventually that I had no choice but to abandon my unit before the lease was up for renewal. I feared for my safety, yet could not rely on Griffith PD due to the fact that the Griffith PD is all buddy buddy with the management there! So corrupt! I am very disappointed and upset that I wasn't able to enjoy my stay. Instead I had to constantly watch my back because the staff had me under their microscope. They had and continue to have no respect for people's personal lives. While living there I was constantly stalked by various employees including head of security. It got to the point where I had to stop going on my daily route walks. For shame. In my life I have NEVER been so mistreated by a company that is supposed to make you feel safe and at home! Please take this warning seriously....DO NOT RENT HERE!!! It may look beautiful and they may have a big ol' sign boasting that they are the "New and improved" Mansards...but don't let that fool you! I promise you that you will be GREATLY disappointed as I was! Maybe if they get new management and maintenance staff..they can be successful again and stop trying to intimidate their renters with empty threats of eviction and noisy staff that won't stay out of your business!!!! They can keep the 2 groundskeepers that do their jobs right though....they were the only staff that had it right and kept their noses out of the drama that all the other employees create there. Instead of spreading rumors...the rest of the staff should put more time and energy into ACTUALLY "IMPROVING" the quality of living at their property!!!! But hey, that just my opinion...read other comments if you would like.....see a pattern here???? smh

I have been living at The Mansards since 1999 and I couldn’t be happier. I have a good friendship with my neighbors. The building I live in is quiet and the view from my apartment is just great. My building always looks clean. The grounds are always kept up, and I like to watch the different animals that live around the area like the deer, the ducks and I’ve even seen a beaver! It always reminds me how far enough I am to feel like I am in the country, but yet I am still close to Chicago. I also like the number of restaurants around so I can get good food quick.

I like the peace and serenity of the community. Additionally the unit i not to shabby. However, the service is completely sub-par. The management office lacks organization and a sense of urgency.

I lived at the Mansards for seven years and really liked it. My apartment had a window in the kitchen which let me get fresh air in when I was cooking, and I liked the way the sun came through my kitchen window in the mornings. The building I was in was very quiet, and my neighbors were nice. The laundry room was always clean, and there wasn’t a lot of cars driving around my building and there was always parking available. The woods were right across from me, and I could park right up to my building which was great when I had a lot of things to carry in. I left was because my family got bigger and we bought a house.
