The hallways of the building that I lived in did have a stale, foul odor. And just about every day there was cigarette fumes and also marijuana fumes. Sometimes the fumes came through the walls. I did report these incidents to the property management, however, the fumes continued until the day I left. The hallways need to be upgraded with new paint, new carpet (or have the carpet thoroughly cleaned properly), the railings on the stairs are old and need to be replaced. We noticed that the railings were not properly secure to insure your safe passage up or down the stairs. The company stated that they inspected the building, but the repairs were not done while I was residing there. I did not agree with how they handled the transition from Home Properties to the current management company. They changed my policy on how I pay the utilities without my consent. When I first inquired about this complex, the rental prices kept increasing from day to day when we would visit. One day the 1 bedroom was $685.00, then two days later, the same unit went up to $695.00, then the following week, the same unit went up to $710.00...!? I'm not sure how they are attempting to run things there, but if you look into it, make absolute certain this is where you really want to live. And I myself saw people hanging outside of the entrances smoking marijuana, in their pajamas, grilling food. This is one place I do not recommend to live, there are better places to look into.

Please don't make this same mistake I did. Read and believe the reviews. Anytime you speak to someone in the office, you'll receive service that falls below anyones expectations. Returning my keys today and they could not even address me, but acted as if I was bothering her. They'll swear they salt/plow in the winter - fell at least twice headed to work. My real problem came in the last 6 months. One day I receive a late payment fee because management decided to increase utilities without telling anyone (SCAM). I went from paying ~$15/mo for utilities to $39. Also, they decided to switch vendors for washing. They were no longer accepting the old payment method where you put your own money on a card. We had a 7 day notice to spend any money left on this loaded card. It was pleasant to know the $40 on my card was now useless - of course they wouldn't refund the money, nor transfer the balance. When returning my keys, I was also told I would be charged for not returning the now obsolete laundry card. I can't wait to see how they screw me on my security deposit.

I'd have to say, alot of these bad reviews I am reading are exaggerated. I have lived here for almost 2 years. The pricing is decent. I was paying $680 for my 1 bedroom. The jump to $714 did throw me off, especially since I know other people in the complex, and theirs didn't go up nearly as much. My hallway does smell half the time, because of people smoking in their apts. I got a call about the bed bug infestation and inspections. Someone had them and it's policy to check the surrounding units. There were none in mine. The water is really bad. I never did drink it, and I don't wash my hair there, but it's also bad in some of the surrounding suburbs. I never encountered scary people hanging around the door or in the parking lot. Just neighbors hanging out outside sometimes. I can hear my neighbors, but I'd expect that in an apartment building. Overall, it's just okay. Not the best, but not the worst.

I lived here a while back and I must say the experience was awesome. I actually miss living here. The staff was a lil rude I might add, but overall the stay was homely. One thing I will add, the surrounding apartments wasn't as noisy as most people experienced.

I just read these reviews and I have to disagree. The side that I'm on, I have had no problems, and the small problems I did have were taken care of right away. Mostly everybody works on my side. Its quiet, nobody is hanging out in front of my door. I've been here for 3 years and have never had the kinds of problems that were listed in the previous reviews. The only thing I could complain about is since we have new management, it suck that they got rid of security and that it's down to only 3 maintenance people. I mean come on its an apartment, you can't expect paradise!! But it's a whole lot better than a lot of places around. I would keep them on my list of places to live.
