Almost every negative word I can think of to describe this place comes to mind but most of all: so damn unprofessional!!!!! So unprofessional it's seriously appalling. We are on a countdown until move out day and can't wait!! Absolute horrid place to live and leasing staff to deal with.
We have lived here for 3 agonizing years and cannot wait to move. The leasing staff is horrific and impossible to deal with. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!!!!!!
The only real redeeming quality of these apartments is their location in the Woodcroft neighborhood. They are overpriced and poorly maintained, both inside and out. The grounds are frequently littered with trash, and the management seems to be unaware or unwilling to do anything about it, despite complaints to management. All that said, it is a real great location, just make sure you shop around before settling for Wood's Edge.
I lived at Woods Edge for three years and liked it until the management changed and the company started charging for water. I don't mind paying for water, and think this helps people be more conservative of that natural resource, however they did not adjust the rent prices. Previously water had been included in the monthly price, then they sprung it on us that we had to pay extra for water. The apartments were already overpriced and this made matters worse. There was no flexibility on the part of the management or the company (Babcock & Brown Residential) even for long-term, loyal residents. After talking to the manager I called the next person on the "ladder" and she never returned my calls. I called three times. Also, as the water meters were being installed by the contractor, the management said someone from Woods Edge would be present when they were in your home. This was not true. I came home to the contractors installing the meter and not one Woods Edge employee was present. This is against rental law in the state of North Carolina. Anyway, if I had known they would start charging us for water, I would have further negotiated my rent prior to signing the new lease. I had signed, and about a month later they pulled this stunt about water no longer being included. So I was stuck there another year, being ripped off. I have since moved. The apartments at Woods Edge are old (18+) and little has been put back into them. The appliances and cabinets are out-dated. The only thing the complex has going for it is the location, and my former neighbors were really nice. There are better complexes in and near the Woodcroft area though. Shop around! Try: The Berkeley, Colonial Village, or locally owned rental companies like Pifer Rentals or Trinity Properties - I've hear good things about these.
I noticed that there were no recent reviews for Woods Edge and so I decided to post one. I have lived in apartments for [eek] close to a decade and find this one to be a tremendous deal if not a great apartment. I am paying 707.00 per month with two pets for a two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, washer and dryer connections and a solid 1100 or 1200 sq ft. The unit has central heat and air conditioning and a fireplace. There is a silly amount of parking such that each resident could have half a dozen cars before there would be a squeeze on spaces. The location suits my wife and i quite well and is surrounded by just enough nature to obscure how convenient it is to strip malls and chain stores galore. The grounds are amazingly well maintained and the management has been friendly (too friendly for the tastes of a non native southerner) and very responsive to all concerns. The maintenance crew operates on a 7 day per week basis and has done anything from helping move furniture to replacing air filters to repairing the communal park tables. The unit itself is a bit run down. The paint on doors is peeling and the kitchen counters are a bit torn. Also we are expected to provide our own washer and dryers. None of this is unexpected given the age of the buildings and the stellar price we are paying. I think that if you are looking at moving to an apartment in Durham, this place deserves special consideration.
