thumbnail for Lake Eola ParkOne of the great things of urban living in Orlando is Lake Eola Park. Aside from great night life and bars, you also have tons of family-friendly activities. One of my favorites is the kiddie section of Lake Eola Park. Once the kids are restless from feeding the Swans they can run and play in a safe environment.

thumbnail for Howard Middle School #Thornton ParkBuilt in 1926, this school in #Thornton Park was originally known as Orlando High School and was the area's first high school, as well the first desegregated school in this community. Famous OHSl alumni include actor Buddy Ebsen, U.S. Astronaut John Young, and Nobel Prize winner/biochemist/geneticist Marshall Warren Nirenberg. As population grew, other high schools were necessary, and this school became a junior high (7th-9th grade) in 1952 and middle school (6th-8th grade) in 1987.
