About This Apartment
The Room:
-------------- It's a dining room that's been converted into bedroom (and by "converted" I mean we closed the double doors into the living room). No closet, but there is a china hutch that can serve as a dresser. Rent is $1,200/mo plus utilities which tend to be ~$40/mo (we don't have cable). Deposit is $2,000 months, so total amount to move in will be $3,100. The room is available July 1st.
The Apartment:
-------------------- It's in lovely Russian Hill, on Union between Hyde and Larkin. The building experienced a pretty significant fire the year before we moved in, so as of 2009 the entire unit was brand new. We've taken excellent care to keep it nice since then. It has a split bathroom (bath/shower and sink on one side of the hall, toilet on the other), all hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchen, and it's just 2 blocks from the charm and fun of Polk Street. We have Netflix streaming since we don't watch much TV, and wifi in the front rooms (which reaches the bedroom for lease). The living room is fully furnished with >1 year-old furniture, so we will not need additional pieces. The kitchen is fully stocked, as well, but room for gadgets if you have a culinary prowess. It's directly on the 41/45 lines, a block from the 19 / cable car lines, and 2 blocks from all the Van Ness routes or the 10/12.
The Roommates:
---------------------- We are two mid-20-something women who work during the week. One commutes to Stanford early, and the other works a 9-5 (and then some) near Union Square. We keep it pretty mellow on the weekdays, and enjoy social drinking on the weekends. We both have active schedules and are often out, but we'd like to find someone who shares our similar interests so we don't have a total stranger in the house. Interests in healthy living and cooking are all plusses. We are clean but not obsessively so (doing your dishes the next day is NBD but leaving them for a week is gross). We enjoy wines (expensive and cheap!) and festivals and holidays, so you can expect us to decorate seasonally.
You:
------ You have a stable income, 23-35 years old, non-smoker, no pets, clean and responsible. You don't have people crashing on our couch like our place is a hostel, but the occasional guest in town is cool. SO's are fine as long as they are respectful of our space (no live-in partners, please). The rest we're happy to explore if we meet for an interview.
