Barb White: This area is named for a turn of the century architect Frank E. Cudell. His widow Emma commissioned the now clock less clock tower as a memorial to her husband.

Barb White: The original building was constructed in1912 by the Leisy Brewing Company. Prohibition took it's toll but the bar continued as a Speakeasy. Today it still reflects it's past and is complete with a place to play bocce ball indoors. I just like to stop in for a burger and watch the guys play.

Barb White: One of two building that are now the Cleveland Public Theatre or CPT for short. The theatre was founded in 1981and in 1995 acquired the remains of Cleveland's oldest standing theatre, The Gordon Square Theatre.

Barb White: Cleveland park has a great outdoor play area as well as an indoor pool and gym. A local hang out for ages.

Barb White: Established in 1902 St. Paul's is one of the few churches that actually offers mass in both English and Croatian. One of the wonderful and beautiful things about the Cleveland area is all the diverse churches that are here.

Barb White: This is the year of the snake. if you look you will see many snakes in and around this area.Great spot for some super Chinese or Thai food. You have to try their Pad Thai it is yummy

Barb White: The entrance to Ohio Technical College. It is a private accredited school. If your looking to work on cars or trucks this is the place to go. You'll notice by the door, their statue of a dragon still from last years Chinese year of the dragon festival

Barb White: The Song of the Whales is number 75 by Wyland the famous mural painter of Hawaii. It was painted in 1997 and stands over 300 feet by 108 feet tall. It is a Painted on the side of Cleveland Public Power building and can be viewed from the shoreway. The area is complete with park benches so you can sit for awhile and contemplate the great whales

Barb White: New luxury apartment on the shore of Lake Erie. What a great view they have including the Urban Shepards and their sheep

Barb White: The well used and loved playground area in this park has many shade trees and a bench for mom to rest while watching the kids

Barb White: This home was built in 2007. It is an Asian Craftman style home. With the help of family and friends or anyone at the time that wanted to lend a hand, it was built using 30 - 40 hay bales. The front yard is Asian inspired garden space watered by rainwater diverted from down spots. All straw bale houses include a “truth window” providing evidence of authentic construction and this house is no exception.

Barb White: When The Alcazar opened in 1923, the hotel quickly became the place to dine, dance and be seen at Cleveland’s most chic address. The local elite, dignitaries and celebrities were frequent guests. Entertainer Bob Hope kept a residence here, as did composer Cole Porter, who reportedly wrote his hit “Night and Day,” while in residence. Even Tarzan himself, Johnny Weissmuller kept house in one of the gracious apartments with his sweetheart, actress Lupe Velez. Today it serves as A Senior housing residence and a B&B

Barb White: The old " Red Door Church" was converted to condos in 2005. This is reuse at it's best. Complete with cathedral ceiling and stained glass windows that were left intact during the conversion.

Barb White: Whole Foods is a shinning star in the University area. It is the largest Whole Foods store in Ohio. I know people that travel from as far away as Kent, Ohio on a regular basis to get all the fresh goods inside this store.

Barb White: If you want the best, a "real" bagel, this is the place to come. They have been here for over 56 years and, trust me, they sell real New York style Jewish bagels. Makes my mouth water just thinking of them

Barb White: This bell is a land mark in The Heights. It was erected in 1957 when "May's on the Heights" was first opened. It was one of the largest suburban shopping areas in Ohio at the time. The store was open for nearly five decades. When the area was remodeled and renamed "University Square," the iconic bell was once again rehung .

Barb White: One of many tennis courts in Cain park. It's a classic Park with a kids playground, a sprinkle pool for young and old, and skate board track--all in one place. It is a tradition to go sled riding down the Taylor Rd hill entrance to the park each winter.
