I dont even know where to start and am pretty sure I wouldnt have a place to stop when talking about this place. I lived in the Windscape apartments 3 separate time...under the OLD owners, the first 2 times were pleasent and no major issues really. HOWEVER, my most recent stay residing here was a nightmare to say the least. The FIRST DAY I moved in, I was intorduced to my very first cockroach...I had never seen one in person before. I was so disguested I couldnt eat my lunch. I continued having issues with cockroaches off and on the entire time I lived there. I bombed the apartment myself several times, to no avail. Upon talking with the management I was told they would call pest control to handle it, but it never happened. I couldnt use most of my upper cabinets in the kitchen due to holes in the walls...and a ridiculous mouse infestation. I literally caught 7 on sticky traps IN ONE DAY. I walked into my kitchen early one morning and almost stepped on a RAT at least 6-8 inches long-just the body- to which I reported all of these issues to management. A neighbor of mine and myself could hear mice scratching around in the walls, I could go on forever. When I showed video footage of the rat and rediscussed all the issues with management, my neighbor and I were told that cockraoches happen and these conditions were not inhumane. They even had the nerve to tell us that military housing was worse on base when we brought up neither of us have had issues like this before. The pools and hot tubs were always closed...hot tubs lukewarm at best. The outside was appealing from far away...upon closer look you can see dry rot, peeling paint, etc. Laundry was upped from $1 per wash and 75 cents per dry, to 1.25 for both...most of the time the dryers were broken, both are VERY small, and half the time I lived there I couldnt even access them due to them being closed for being vandalized. This place was all about getting people in the door, but once youre there you can forget about everything. We ended up going to the department of public health because we were ignored and the issue was minimalized. They even had the nerve to tell the public health dept that we were blowing it out of proportion and there was no infestation. They ended up coming out personally to investigate. I hear DAILY about people moving out of this place. My husband moved early and of course they made him pay everything they could. They told me I would receive some of my deposit back and actually sent me a detailed list of expenses, ending with them claiming I still owed them money! I cant stress it enough this place used to be gorgeous and the best apartments in town. Now its a rundown mess and I think the people managing it are in over their heads stuck trying to do the owners dirty work...slumlording comes to mind.....overall just a horrible experience...I had to bomb my house for months to make sure any and all infestations were completely gone....look somewhere else...a nightmare for me and a lot of people I know!
