we lived here for about a year and a half due to the close proximity to the university during 2007-2008 off Cornell Ave and we never had any trouble, our neighbors were quiet so we never heard anything. We parked on the street and never had any trouble, no one ever broke into our cars or our appt. we never had any trouble with pests or roaches. If we had any problems someone would quickly fix it; the older maintenance guy was a dear. Now, Molly, yes i agree, she's sort of mean/rude, but i mean as long as we paid our rent we had no trouble with her. i did think the prices were overpriced, i mean a 670sq inch apt for like i think it was 1100? pshh. and it is really old and outdated. but yeah it was okay, but just because it was close to school.
Some Ridiculous reviews here. I've lived at Citrus Grove since 2006. They do not have a roach problem. In 6 years I've seen one roach, on one day, in one of the laundry rooms. The room was bug-bombed the day after I reported it. Nothing since, and that was approx. 18 months ago. I've never seen a roach in my apartment, or even a spider, in 6 years. If someone has roaches in their apartment, they must be a very unclean person who leaves food and crap everywhere. Management are fine. Over the years they've had two defensive managers who don't like to be corrected. They've also had a few superstars working there, some lovely gals who truly care, and others who want to be helpful. I'd give management a solid 3/5. Acceptable. Yes the water has been turned off 8 times in the last 2 years for repairs, most due to the County's lines and not any fault of the complex. We're always given 24+ hours notice. To state "I never know when I can take a shower" is just absolutely ridiculous and dishonest, and negates that entire review. Out of 730 days, 8 have been interrupted for up to 5 hours. What IS true, in the reviews here, is that crime has creeped into the area from San Bernardino over the past two years. They used to have security, which stopped many years ago, or it simply wasn't doing it's job. They refuse to put in cameras to deter crime. Garages are broken in to, tires have been slashed, and vehicles have been vandalized and broken into. My housemate had his truck vandalized multiple times, and my gf had her license plate stolen for the tags. So vehicular crime must be pretty rife here. Overall... its a solid 3.5/5. Without the crime, it would be a 4.5/5. It IS family friendly, kids are outside playing, and are mostly quiet and respectful. There aren't too many student or too many parties. Its been a nice place to live. If I move, it will be because the vehicular crime due to lack of real security, or because it is much more expensive than having a mortgage in this economy.
I cannot even give this place 1 star! We have lived here for almost 2 painful years- due to a quick move from Northern Ca. for business. This is the WORST apartment complex I have ever lived in. It is horribly managed and not a safe place to live. We rented a garage and it was broken into twice, called police and they said oh yeah this happens a lot! Car was broken into twice and just real shady people always wondering around and management doesn't do anything about it. The management is very rude and offensive and obviously doesn't care about tenants. They are constantly turning the water off STILL for improvements- how about a discount since I never know when I can take a shower! We will be moving in 2 months and I would NEVER EVER recommend this place to anyone- not even my worst enemy!
This place is really nice, but was poorly managed for the first year of my lease. It has recently been bought by a new owner and new manager who actually care about tenants and they are making huge improvements already. They have already completely relandscaped and redone the outside of the units to make everything look much better - they are putting in new fitness equipment in the fitness center and are quick to respond when I have a request. I'm very impressed with the customer service!
Citrus Grove Doesnt even rate a one. Citrus Grove is a horrible place to live like other have stated it is VERY poorly managed I have unfortunately resided here for 4 years (Finally moving out!) The management staff has changed 4 times since ive resided here. The staff are very uneducated and lack customer service skills. (Laura, Crystal, Amber) As for their apartments they are poorly taken care of there are horrible patch jobs on the walls and doors cheap carpet, rusty looking vent covers, ceiling fans that don’t look secure, the kitchens are very dated with nicked counters dented and scratched stoves and WORSE THEY HAVE A ROACH PROBLEM!!!!! We had to have our home sprayed times 4 times in one month for the last 5 months! I finally complained to the Department of Health. And instead of the apartments taking care of it by spraying the entire building they only focused on our apt. So of course the roaches are going to scurry away into another home in our building. And their excuse is oh well we don’t want to expand the problem and we can’t make other apartments get sprayed if they don’t want it. Hello?!?! then how do you propose to fix the problem?? To date we still have the problem thank god we move out in a couple of months. They also have VERY POOR security at our complex cars ARE BROKEN into just about every month with of course the term we are Not Responsible for what happens. Whats the point of parking under the lighted car port if we STILL aren’t protected??? I had someone try to break into our apartment through our son’s bedroom while we slept luckily our dog started barking at the window! It took Redlands Police 30 minutes to respond One time when we watched a Guy breaking into our neighbors car we were on the phone with Redlands Police it took them 20 minutes to respond the guy ended up breaking into the car and getting away. All walks of life come on to the property we have several homeless people that go through our trash on a regular daily basis. When this is reported we get the "Oh we will take care of" only to see the same homeless person again the next day!. Some of the people in the complex are low lives who can’t even pick up after their dogs it’s so disgusting to have to trudge over dog poop because someone cant clean up after their pet. The Complex sold us on "Quiet" "Family" "Professionals" But the place doesn’t even come close!! The Cornell side is horrible to live on you might as well pretend you’re at an Animal House Frat Party. There are tons of college kids who party all week long that live on the Cornell side you can complain about the tons of alcohol containers and trash everywhere the loud music till 3-4am but nothing gets done to make it stop. I can guarantee you'll find college kids running down the street naked for their frats or having sex on the lawns. Citrus Grove just got another owner. Gee wow. Whats really changed?? just because you paint the place it doesn’t mean it’s ,made the atmosphere better. As for the exterior of the apartments it’s like the owner couldn’t decide what color he wanted our complex looks soooo ghetto we have orange, yellow. cranberry, brown, white some grayish blue apartments now. Whatever happened to earth tones that blend with the rest of the residential area we live in so were not an eye sore? It looks horrible!!. There is no discipline when it comes to the appearance of patios and decks some of the tenants decks look like storage units. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!! STAY AWAY FROM RENTING HERE. THE RENT IS CHEAP BUT LIKE THEY SAY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
