Live here currently, have for six months. Since I moved in: 1. Roaches are always in my kitchen. I set up traps and have even resorted to sealing cracks myself in the ceiling, around cabinets and counters, to minimize this. 2. I've had RAW SEWAGE back up through my tub drain THREE TIMES and had I not been home to alert someone, I'm fully convinced it would've been on my floor and on my stuff. 3.Water/waste drainage in this building is terribly antiquated, such that a clog anywhere causes extreme back-up issues. A kitchen clog caused a flood a floor above me and my apartment ceiling leaked like a rainstorm, had to cover delicate electronics and personal items. 4. Getting ahold of maintenance is extremely difficult in off-hours, but highly necessary because of the high chance of clogging, flooding, etc. I had to call some call-center in Maryland to try and get ahold of a maintenance man to stop the flooding of my ceiling, rather than being able to dial a local person and get a reliable answer. 5. I've issued multiple noise complaints on tenants who leave their barking dog outside on their balconies, oftentimes at all hours of the night, or who yell/argue/stomp/make noise constantly. Noise reduction is non-existent, I can hear what my neighbors are saying when they have a discussion. 6. A lot of garbage and refuse that just sits/blows around like tumbleweed, plus I've seen tenants, some of whom live on upper balconies, throw food waste and garbage off their balconies, or allow it to passively fall or be blown off. It's in direct opposition to the lease agreement but no one seems to cares, despite "security" guys driving around constantly. 7. Minor inconvenience in comparison, but no one... NO ONE... picks up after their dogs here. If you want to go for a walk, I advise getting a pair of boots that can be hosed off. 8. No nightly walkaround or security checks ever, I've had people run up and down the halls of my building at all hours of the night and there is no recourse. Locked building entries are supposed to minimize this, but people jam them open constantly and the apartment managers fix this once every two months, then the door is jammed again the next day and stays that way for the next two months. On a positive note: Many of the maintenance guys are friendly and sincere about fixing what is wrong, once they finally get a chance to. One of these leaks was on Christmas Eve at like, 2:30 in the morning, and a maintenance man came out within an hour or so. The only issue is, getting ahold of maintenance/security is extremely difficult and at times impossible. This complex seems to consist of young families with small children, a lot of elderly folks, which makes the failure to police and provide a community atmosphere even worse.
Terrible apartments. DO NOT RENT HERE! Maintenance took 4 months to fix a leak that damaged the ceiling and caused mold. They only responded when i called the health dept and put my rent in escrow.... horrible neighbors that leave trash and filth everywhere and graffiti on everything. just a bad experience
I really did not have an issue witht he apartment itself, however the current propert mgr is horrible. She lets anyone on the premises to make the numbers high. Some of the security harrass the neighborhood children and adults. They basketball court and playground area are never open for use. One security guard has received so many complaints he was moved to nights to limit interaction with residents. DO NOT RENT HERE
Four Towers/ Tower Place Apts: DO NOT RENT HERE. not really a gated community. people walk through the brakes in the fences all the time, they hired security but it doesnt help much because half the time, they sit up front in their trucks and guard shack (which used to be a community rec center for the tenants) and watch movies. maintenance used to be amazingly responsive... up till the beginning of this year...until CMC fired the main crew to save themselves a penny. maintenance is a HUGE issue now, it took them 2 weeks to fix an AC issue that should have been fixed in 24 hours. It was 90-100 degrees outside every day and my boyfriend has a heart condition, and has had 2 strokes in the past 2 years, and if he gets too overheated, theres a high possibility he could have another one. They dont care about that stuff. We had to stay over at his moms so he wouldnt get too overheated. toilet broke, after a week of hearing nothing, we ended up fixing it ourselves. Garbage disposal went out, its been a week and a half since i put the request in and havent even heard as much as a oh, we'll be out soon. so, if you want to live in an overpriced neighborhood, who doesnt care about their tenants enough to hold up their part of the contract, then by all means, move here. But i will be moving out at the end of this lease.
