The worst place I've ever lived. People be aware that management posts those fake five stars ratings!!!! Once you move here, you will start hearing loud neighbors, smelling smoke of cigarettes through the vents...management does not do any inspection whatsoever. If you want to rent a decent and quiet place, do yourself a favor and move closer to downtown. Hated it!
Hello!! I have lived here since Sept 2011 and I must say I am happy. I put in a service request within three days it gets done, if it's an emergency it gets taken care of the same day. The staff is friendly. The neighborhood is clean and green. So what I had a spider or two...my apartment is located next to the woods...it is to be expected- at least I have never ever had any roaches...and they will come and spray if you put your name on the list. The space is nice, they provide adequate surface area, carpets were clean.... I would like to say this... If you want a luxury apartment with hightech anemities, 24 hour concierge, covered parking lots and all that jazz be prepared to pay for it...I don't understand why people want to live like the rich and famous and only pay 1000$ in rent....you are in Maryland...it is expensive up here...I'm from the south..I could get a 3bdr 2bath w/d stainless steel supercharged apartment for what I pay here for a 2brd/1bath..I'm not upset it is the way of the world. You do get what you pay for...you get too cheap with the rent you might end up living in a lesser attractive area. I like the property and unless a wave of slums move in and take over it will continue to be an nice place to call home...I love coming home to my apartment :)
This place is horrible! Buyer beware!! You get what you pay for!! First let me say this. I am a 25 year old, working professional, with no kids. I am pretty laid back and not much gets to me. So for me to take my time to even write this just shows how overly dissatisfied I am and hope others do not make the same mistakes!! I was looking for a scale down to my previous rental space in order to save money. But I did not want something that looked dingy or lacked customer service. Well, looks are to be deceiving!! When I first visited Hampton Hollow, I was greeted by Nicole. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and she was always in contact with me, returning my calls, and answering my questions throughout my rental process. After I moved in, she was gone, maybe 1-2 months later. It went horribly down hill from there. First of all, the neighbors are ghetto and rude!! One neighbor cut me off at the entrance of the property, then starred at me as I passed her, and then FOLLOWED ME back to my apartment. She proceeded to ask me if I HAD A PROBLEM?? yeah, so i just kept walking and pretended i was walking to a door other than my own. Luckily, that was the only experience I had with the neighbors (maybe she was having a bad day, maybe not) but i have never experienced anything like that before. It gets worst. My utility bills are ridiculous! The insulation is horrible and they need to invest in renovations. I live in the smallest unit 1 bedroom and my utilities run a average of $150-200 per month. Therefore, in actuality, I am not saving a dime by living in this dump! I have received several notifications on my door of break-ins and car thefts while I have been here and it seems like the police are here AT LEAST once a month doing some type of investigation. I work long hours though the week so I usually pay my rent using the drop box. In January 2012, I received a letter that they had not received any of my rental payments since November 2011. I moved in September 2011. So, immediately I went to the office to figure out what was going on. To my complete disarray, there is nobody there that can answer any questions. Nicole was gone, along with the other girl that gave me my keys. And the Property Manager was out on sick leave for the past two months. I still have no idea who the lady was that I talked to but she was no help in a VERY SERIOUS situation. I pay my rent with money orders (never again) and unfortunately i thought i was dealing with a trustworthy and ethical business so I left my money in the drop box without receiving receipt. I was interested in knowing why no one had notified me that they had not received my rental payments for 3 months in a row. No one could come up with an answer. When the PM did return (never contacted me even though I left my information and asked that she contact me immed. upon her return ) she was COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and frankly just had a plain ignorant attitude. I explained to her I needed my questions answered as we were talking about thousands of dollars that were potentially stolen from her business. I also questioned how none of the people working there when i made these payments were there anymore. She would not answer any of my questions and basically told me I just had to pay the money again. I understand that she probably gets the "oh i did pay speech" all the time. BUT if i am showing you proof from my bank account showing withdrawals and i have money order receipts, why are you not looking into it??? SO obviously, I have had to get law enforcement involved and they are conducting an investigation. Which is sad because I still do not have my money back and settled my account in the meantime so it would not effect my credit. Its just horrible!! I have never dealt with anything like his before and as soon as this is taken care of, I am out of here. I will pay the extra money to break my lease because this place is THE WORST!!!
I have lived in Hampton Hollow for almost a year and don't have many complaints. It is definitely pricey but you know that going in and what everyone says about the electric bills is right. I have a small one bedroom and kept the heat VERY low this winter and was still paying over $100 a month. The neighborhood is quiet, there is always parking, and I rarely hear my neighbors. The fitness center is older and there aren't many machines but it's never crowded. Everything is updated, specifically the kitchens and bathroom which were the selling point for me. Washers/dryers in every unit but small. Overall, I haven't had many issues living here but will be looking for a cheaper apartment this year when my lease is up.
The bad 1. Dead body front of complex 2. 5 minute showers, old 25 gallon water tank 3. Electric bills super high poor insulation throughout 4. Old appliances (renovated apartment) 6. Called police several times loud rowdy neighbors 7. One person maintance I dont count the second person 8. Air filter replaced 1 time per year. 9. Cockroaches and Bee infestation, terminated once per year 10. You pay for water 11 You pay for insurance living here 12 Fedex avoids this area 13 Crime on the rise two blocks down Castle BLVD 14. 10 cars broken into police reports on file 15. 5 apartments broken into police report on file 16. Gym old broken equipment no Tv or sounds horrible 17. Loose dogs and pitbulls on the run and dog poop all over 18. Manager fired entire new crew don't know what to make of them. The good You can hear birds and go for a jog when Police patrol the area. I think its obvious you get what you pay for, but honestly for the price of these apartments(Over $1350) there are better options such as Rockville and downtown SilverSpring in Craigslist. Looking forward to moving soon.
