My wife and I lived at Canterra last year. I have to say that it is horrible . The location is wonderful and the apartments are somewhat nice for the price . However, every month are rent was something difference we where suppose to be paying $785 but it always ended up more then $820 sometimes ever more . We understand that you have to pay for water but it was just getting out of hand when the quote you a price when signing the lease they say about $25-50 Increase depeneding on how much water is used. Then the feel to tell you that the split the water bill with everyone who lives in the apartment . So you would pay your rent with the $25-$50 extra for water then 3 days later you get a threating letter on your door telling you to pay more or further action would be taken. Not to meantion you would be taking a shower then all of a sudden the water would turn super hot and damn near burn you . Half of the year our heat didn't work so we just used the oven to heat the house. We will never live here again. And the parking SUCKS you have to be parked by 6pm to get a parking spot by your apartment. Not to meation the raccoons that live there as well.

We have never lived at a place worse than this one. Kayla (the manager) is very irresponsible and unaccountable. The maintenence manager has the worst customer service ever. Price is cheaper than most places but to me it's not worth it. Don't live here

i have been here for two years and it is OKAY. The apartment is decent size for what i pay for it. But i here the rent is increasing by about $200 more than what i pay and I wouldn't pay that much to live here. The towel hanging fixtures have fallen off 10 times and have been repaired. The cabinets are white, which show tons of grime. They also seem cheaply installed as they hang crooked. The drawers all stick or have some other malfunction. The balcony door blinds are cheap and fall off just with normal wear. I'm sure i'll be paying to replace all of these. I live on the second floor and the vaulted ceilings are nice. there are two decent sized restrooms. I've never had troubles running out of hot water. The carpet is nice. The appliances are decent. Water charges stay the same every month so it's nice to be able to wash as much laundry as you need without worrying about the water bill. The staff is friendly and they respond to maintenance requests quickly. my biggest problem is the heating and cooling system. The heaters are baseboard water heaters. Hot water runs through the baseboard system and that is supposed to heat your unit. it doesn't. the insulation on the windows is horrible. The "heat" from the heater literally leaves right out of the window. My bedroom is freezing. It is 50 degrees in the living room right now. I keep a space heater in my son's room. And the cooling...The whole 900+ square foot unit i supposed to be cooled by a tiny swamp cooler on the living room wall. It doesn't. the average temp of the apartment in the summer is 80+ degrees. I keep fans in every room, and this summer my husband and i slept on the pullout bed in the living room the entire summer. It was unbearable. if i were paying less than i am, I wouldn't complain. Would i recommend this place? For the $1100 they are asking, no. Not with the outdated heating and cooling system. Thats the biggest issue i have here. so if you don't see that as an important aspect, this is a decent apartment with friendly staff.

2 things sold me on this apartment, the price and the location, everything is literally near-by: post office, grocery store, target, the mall, freeway, etc. I lived on the bottom floor which was fine in the beginning but truthfully you share the same water heater with the person above you (or below you if you rent the top unit). So, if you're taking a shower and they happen to flush the toilet or run the sink water your warm water abruptly becomes ice cold. When the upstairs unit flushed their toilet, you can hear the water loudly run through the piles. You can also hear EVERY single footstep they take. It was like a stampede every single day, I didn't need an alarm clock for a while because whoever woke up at 5 am daily became my alarm clock. Don't get me started on when they would vacuum.... The neighbor to my right always had their stereo on full blast from 1-5p. The a/c is in the front of the apartment and is pointed into the kitchen, we had to move our bed into the living room during summer because there was NO cold air getting into that back room. I didn't have any issues with the other tenants or staff. There was a time when there were consistent car break-ins. Windows smashed, tires slashed by a bunch of kids from the near-by neighborhood. The pool becomes overrun during summer time. Oh and you'd love and hate living there on July 4th. I got home 30 minutes before the fireworks were to start, since it's practically a block away you can just stand outside and watch the show but there's a bunch of random people that will take the assigned parking spaces that time - which you have to pay an add't cost each month. The heater heats up slowly but efficiently, just don't put a large piece of furniture in front of it which is hard to do since it's along the ONLY blank wall that's not in the way of any door or window. I never had any "infestation" problems. No roaches or bed bugs like other apartment reviews have. I found a new place with 2 months left on my lease at Fitzsimons, I couldn't stand the noise the other neighbors were giving off so I packed up all my crap and left. Overall if you have a 9-5 job and you're rarely at home, by all means this place is for you esp. with how easy it is getting on the freeway. If you could, get a unit next to some kind of parking lot. My unit was in the middle and hauling groceries was hell. The apartment was pretty much exactly what I expected for how old it is.

The other people who wrote these reviews must be employees. I lived there for 11 months. The 12th month we paid the rent but lived somewhere else because the place was so bad. The water is either scalding hot or freezing cold and fluctuates while you are in the shower, you can NEVER get a constant temperature. The "renovated cabinets" were poorly made and were always hanging crooked on their hinges. The carpet was stained when we moved in yet we still had to pay $400 when we moved out to pay for carpet cleaning even though we put "stained carpet" on the walk through. When we did our final walk through they tried to charge us for things that were already broken or missing when we moved in, and I saw the maintenance man pull the lint cover off the dryer and try to tell me I had broken it. I had to make NUMEROUS calls to the higher ups complaining about not only these issues, but other problems I had with the management. The wash machine shook a lot when it did the spin cycle and I had to call 5 times for them to look at it. They kept telling me that I was putting too many clothes in which was causing an uneven load. It was discovered on the 5th trip that the washer was on an uneven surface and they had to put a board under the back of it to keep it steady. AND they came into our apartment 3 TIMES unannounced. The first time they had a work order for the apartment below us and came into ours by accident installing a weather strip in the door that prevented it from fully closing. The second time they said there was mold in our apartment and they came in without telling us and there was actually no mold. The third time they had a work order for our number in a different building for a shower fix and left a note that they couldn't find a problem with our shower. Invasion of privacy!!!! The air conditioning was a unit in the front of the apartment and the air did not reach the bedroom in the back so we ended up bringing our mattress into the living room in the summer to sleep by the cool air. The heat did not get very hot, we had it up full blast one day and it was still 65 degrees inside. They told us to "pull the couch away from the wall so the heat could disperse" however there was little to no heat even coming out of the heater. I'm sure we had other problems but there were so many I can't even remember them all. Management did not help with any issues, always had to call a higher up. Do not move in it is not worth the headache!!!
