The apartments seem to be maintained well. Occasionally the recycling bins are overflowing but they don't remain that way for long. Most residents seem polite and many are young families. Most residents are pretty respectful of the quiet hours between 10pm and 8am, but there are the occasional loud gatherings that might irk some. Summertime is a little worse given everyone generally keeps windows open and sound carries easily with this many people living in close proximity. The Klahanie area is a nice place to get out for easy cycling, running, and walking. Update1: After living here for six months I've found the staff and maintenance to be really good. Not once have I come across anyone that didn't seem genuinely concerned about my request or problem. Maintenance requests are serviced very promptly and professionally. Update2: Received pricing for the second year that's over 10% more than the first. Summerwalk doesn't appear to encourage longterm tenancy.

This review is intended so prospective apartment seekers will have an solid assessment of Summerwalk at Klahanie. Staff- All I can say is they are all amazing. From the office staff to the maintenance staff. Regardless of what issue you could possible face the staff at Summerwalk are knowledgeable, professional and always eager to assist. Community- You truly can not ask for a better community of people to live among. This community is ideal for families with children. It is a great place for my children as well as for my spouse and I take make new friendships. Facilities - Unfortunately we know get into the reason and justification for the 2 star rating. The facilities are extremely dated. The walls are thin and so regardless of your position in your apartment your neighbors will be privy to your discussions that is unless your using your inside voice. Although the staff is amazing at responding to service request due to the facilities being dated they are having to make service calls far to frequently for the money you are asked to pay. The window are in extreme poor condition and due to a lack of insulation should temperatures drop you'll find yourself having to leave cabinets to sinks open and your water running through the night so your pipe's won't freeze. The hot tub hasn't work but 16 days in the entire time I've lived at summerwalk. The weight room can stand to be updated and the club house which should be a focal point of the community lacks a T.V. Considering all the newly developed apartments in the Issaquah area I am afraid that the price you are asked to pay to live at summerwalk is not comparable, Maybe 20 years ago in its hay day but unfortunately this community should lower its asking rate to reflect the sub-par condition of the facilities. In follow-up amazing staff, excellent community, poor facilities based on the price of newer modeled apartments that rent at a more economical rate.

I have not lived in an apartment for over 10 years and I have to say I was a bit apprehensive about how I would adjust and especially concerned about the conditions of Summerwalk due to the # of bad reviews. I have to say that they have gone above and beyond in servicing me. Sure, the garbage is an issue - but that's due to residents. The grounds are kept very nicely; the maintenance team is wonderful; the workout center & pool awesome; and the management staff (Linda) knowledgeable, professional, understanding and willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. I just thought it was important for those of you thinking of moving to Summerwalk to know that my experience has overall been great.

Since my original posting below, the people have moved out, possibly evicted, I'm not sure. Peace and quiet is so nice. Great neighbours now. I have seen Deer out back a few times, lots of birds and wildlife out my window. No loud music any more and a very nice lady moved in downstairs. We are renewing our lease this week! :-) ________________ We currently live here. We will not be renewing at the end of our lease period. Our downstairs neighbor plays loud music when he gets home in the wee hours. We have called security and the leasing office numerous times. He is often partying at 2-3 am in the morning. I work from home and for 2-3 hours each day I am assaulted with loud music that comes through the floor. We've had the management office come in and basically said that they will not do anything, that his music level is "borderline" and hard to enforce during the day. Well you try listening to it 7 days a week while you are on conference calls and working and then tell me if it's borderline. The music is so loud in the afternoon my 14 month baby dances to it, and it has frequently woken her up. On Christmas day, my husband went down to ask him to turn it down, he yelled at my husband and refused and went back in and turned it up even louder. As it stands, we will be leaving at the end of the lease period.

I've lived here for 2 years through unbelievable amounts of construction and noise. During the remodel they pulled out all of the insulation and did not replace it. The workmanship on the remodel has lowered the quality of the apartment with cheap materials and finishes and very very bad installation. I can now feel a breeze coming through the floor heaters and can SEE OUTSIDE through the heaters. My electricity bills were over $250/month for 4 months last winter. The walls are extremely thin too - I can hear the upstairs neighbor any time they move or use the bathroom. The management company will do anything to take your money and is generally unorganized and unwilling to help. The lease is ridiculously long and has over 30 addendum. On the plus side they were always very quick to fix items in the apartment. The reviews here should prove to you why the vacancy rate is so high here. Do yourself a favor and stay away!
