My name is Miranda La Roche. I recently wrote a decent review on this place and I'm taking it back. Parking has never been great here but recently it has gotten ridiculous. I understand I come home at late hours due to my job but there should be no reason why there are no parking spots. If by some miracle there appears to be one it is on the other side of the complex. 1. I have a leg injury that makes my leg swell up at night an it hurts a lot to walk that far. 2. It is not exactly safe to walk that far. and 3. why should I have to pay so much money if I can't even enjoy living here anymore. My boyfriend and I just renewed our lease and I am regretting it so much. I can honestly say I pretty much hate this place now. Needless to say after tonight and so many others of struggling to find a parking spot here I'm done with this place. Supposedly we were supposed to get tags so this issue would not continue hmmm...that was well about 5 months ago and shockingly the issue has not been settled. I used to really love this place and now I'm a foot out the door.
Our renewal is almost up and guess what!? They want to raise our rates $100! $100! For these apartments? No thanks. Parking is HORRID. HORRID!! The office NEVER answers. I go to try and pay rent on my lunch time and they are closed for lunch. What business does that? What an inconvenience. I'm not happy with them after 2 years, don't know why I've stuck around so long.
I have been with Thornbury for over a year. My boyfriend and I moved into a 2 bedroom with a roommate and for the most part the experience has been great. However, when my boyfriend and myself decided to renew our rates jumped up $100. Needless to say we were less than thrilled to see this. We were actually considering moving until a leasing consultant Cori did an amazing job at making us feel at home. I'm an extreme stickler when it comes to customer service and she was right on point. So we moved forward and we are moving into our one bedroom this week. I do have some minor complaints: Parking is just a mess. I have metal in my leg so when I have to park at the back of the parking lot then walk to my apartment it hurts really bad. Also, as a woman I feel nervous walking late at night to my apartment. The building next to us is always throwing loud parties that take up the parking spots and are always standing outside drinking and looking at you as you walk by. I do not feel safe. They have a useless parking lot cop that is there for our protection who is never in site or answers any of my voicemails. My building is directly in front of the pool and "closes" at 10. Well everyone and their mom goes for a late night swim and once again the parking lot cop does nothing about it. They need to get rid of him immediately. A guy on a segway is more useful than that loser. We have had minor issues with our dishwasher but when it comes to the apartment itself it;s great. It has your garden bathtub, crown moulding, and walk-in closet. There are some changes I would like to see at Thornbury but overall I enjoy living here. I just hope they do something about parking and their rent-a-cop (if you can even call him that).
I will start off by saying I’ve got nothing nice to say about this complex, and I’ve lived in several. It is now nearly midnight and for the second time in as many months my ac isn’t working. The first time it took the complex 3 days to come out. I was told by the manager, Brian, I should have called and not submitted an online request. So, this time I did. I received a call back from a very sleepy maintenance worker who told me they don’t work on ac’s at night. I went back and forth with the maintenance worker who at no point told me his name. He asked me what I was going to do if someone came out and got killed. I asked him to bring a helper and a flashlight. He then asked me why I didn’t call in sooner, as if I have control over when my ac goes out. He repeatedly ignored requests for contact information for someone that could handle this situation, telling me he’ll come out in the morning. So, clearly calling it in as I was told by the manager did nothing. This is only one, of many issues this complex has. Parking is in issue, the complex doesn’t regulate parking so if you come in past 8 or so, you’re likely to have to park in the back. Maintenance is a big issue, all 3 of my sinks were linking when I moved in, and it took maintenance 3 times to finally repair the issue. I bought a new dryer, well it went out as soon as I used it because the exhaust vent was so clogged. I’ve had an issue with roaches for a couple months now; I have repeatedly requested pest control. Pest Control came out once, sprayed outside, and put bait under my sink. This was a couple weeks ago, the problem has gotten worse. After pest control came out, I put in another request and I was told by maintenance, I had to wait for the poison to work. Well, it hasn’t worked, the problem has gotten worse. The pools. Both pools were shut down for over two months. This was due to the electrical failing code, or so the office told me. The pools were drained, eventually the electrical was repaired, the city of Houston came out and the pools were reopened. Within a month the pool in the rear was closed, and green. I’m not sure how often the front pool gets cleaned, and it often looks like it’s in bad shape. Oh, and even though the front pool has been “open” for well over a month the complex hasn’t taken the time to remove the “closed” sign, initially they just put a piece of paper over it, which fell off within a couple days. The hot tub, isn’t hot, and would barely pass for warm, which is also a health hazard as bacteria grows in this environment. It really is a shame this complex is managed so poorly because it could be really nice, but it’s far from luxury and I really cannot wait for my lease to be up so I can move to a different location. If you can handle all the other issues, keep in mind if anything happens overnight that is a maintenance emergency, the on call maintenance worker will tell you to deal with it until the morning.
HORRIBLE!!! There was mold growing out of my vents. I made numerous complaints. They would come out, patch up the job and a week or two later the mold was back. I hate this place. I would not recommend this to my enemy. All the nice things about the apartment, like crown molding and garden tubs, don't mean anything when you have mold growing.
