If you want to live in a greedy corporation driven business that will ask you to move out for construction without proper time, evict you, then sue you, this is the spot. Do not rent here they are nice but will drain every dollar you have, and have no regard for your situation and it being your home. They are only a business and do not care. DO NOT RENT HERE>

This place is great and social, but not loud. People walking dogs, surfing, hanging out, and generally having fun. It's also just a really nice complex. 2 pools, lots of barbecues, easy laundry, easy access from all sides, and everything in my apartment was perfect and clean upon moving in. All the staff are very nice and helpful. The owner of the complex, Equity Residential, is big on being technologically savvy. You can request maintenance (I haven't had to) online and set up automatic monthly rent payments from your checking account. To buzz your friends into the complex: They look up your name on the intercom and give you a call. It calls your cell phone. You can speak with them, then press 9 on your phone to let them in. So cool. Everyone should live here.

I wish I had read these reviews before moving here. If you are looking for place to call home you should probably look elsewhere. The business model here seems to be to just automatically raise rents every year until someone can't afford it anymore and moves out. My rent was raised $500 a month after the first year. I also got charged and extra $150 for being late on my rent when they were closed for most of a three day weekend and didn't open their mail until after the deadline. If you look at who owns this property it makes sense. The property is owned by Equity Residential, a company run by Sam Zell and has made a name for opposing rent control all over the country. A quick google search will turn up all of this. The guy makes his money by profiting from the bail outs, foreclosures and when people get kicked out of their homes he hits them again by raising rents until he has sucked as much money out of families as possible. This is truly an evil corporation. To add insult to injury, they threw out the cover for my motorcycle saying they don't allow motorcycle covers. Really?? I have other minor complaints like the laundry facilities suck, the pool was never heated when checked it and it seems like something is always broken, water leaks, garage doors broken for weeks, etc. The staff is also very dismissive of tenants, but given the amount of turnover I have seen in the office , it probably isn't a great place to work either. So, buyer beware. If you want a cool place to live for a year, or a few months it is probably fine, but as a home, they will keep chipping away at your salary for as long as you allow them to.

Absolute nightmare! The review below accurately revealed many problems of this apartment. I was unaware that this property is owned by Decron Properties. Otherwise, I would never have rented it. Management of this property is indeed extremely slow to fix things - bath room fans make such loud noise that one can hear the fan 2 units away with doors closed; stoves, ovens and sinks with loose / missing knobs, toilet making noises, and bath tub with clogged drainage. Seriously, one time I was taking a shower and guess what, hair and other "stuff" was flowing back from the drain. It was absolutely disgusting. Furthermore, the services and guarantees by management are at best mediocre. A neighbor of mine had a dog that barks every day from around 2PM to 6PM non-stop. It is extremely annoying and the problem persisted for over a month. Then another neighbor’s dog started barking from 5AM until I leave for work. I had an important express mail sent to me and I needed it the following day for work. It just happens that the staff needed to leave early that day so I am stuck without it. (I always wonder why are they allowed to detain my packages and I must be home at 6PM or earlier to pick up MY package?) It turned out the placed ONE SINGLE sign, saying the office will close early, on the gate of one of the SIX entrances. (So it must be that they throw a dice to decide which one to choose, maybe?) When I inquire about these general issues, some of the staffs don’t even let me finish my sentence. Also, the floors seem to be extremely thin and according to the maintenance guy, it is “normal” to hear the people walking upstairs. At first I thought it was a rat that’s making loud noise (above 60 dB), but the maintenance guys insist that the vent section is too narrow for a rat to enter. He insists that this noise I hear is from the tenet upstairs. As a result, I asked the staff to check it out, and the response was: “the maintenance guy says it’s the tenet upstairs walking around.” Naturally, you would question why the people upstairs would walk around in the room from 7AM to 3AM (yes, almost the whole 24 hours) everyday. Sometimes the “pounding” noise is consistent and non-stop throughout the night and causes me to become sleep deprived for days. Yet management says “it is normal apartment living” and suggested that I put up with the noise. Lastly, I feel that some (some, definitely not all) of the management staffs are racist. At first, I though the staffs just no longer care about the tenets after their 30-day trial period is over (meaning that they are stuck with the lease contract). However, I lately realized that’s not really the case. If a white guy/girl shows up in the office the same time as me, they’ll be greeted and helped before the staff even lays his/her eyes on me. Though later incidents can be retaliation to my complaints, things like this happened before I ever made any complains. A majority of the tenets in my unit is white and I do feel that they get a better treatment when they show up in the office. I understand that they are just employees of the property company so I always use my every effort to make them feel appreciated. Yet, despite my efforts, there is little improvement. My stay has been nothing but a nightmare.

Dump in disguise. In 3 months, kitchen flooded twice, bathroom once, shower was clogged when I moved in and they claimed it was b/c I used too much water (despite my use of a water use regulated showerhead), they increased my rent upon lease renewal by $200 while offering other apartments nearly identical to mine (same floor, view, appliances, etc.) for $200 LESS than what my initial rate, and they tried to rip me off on my security deposit. I fought them - and won. I wouldn't recommend living here to ANYBODY. There are plenty of places in Redondo if you're desperate to move to town and don't have time to get anything else. You can move out when you find an acceptable place west of PCH - this place is NOT worthwhile even temporarily!
