JRK is awful. If you want to fix your own things and be completely blown off when your heater, water heater, kitchen sink, range, dryer, gas fireplace, and garage door stop working or break down. Then this is the place for you. The maintenance manager will argue with you about fixing things, will wreck your apartment when you're not there and then when you go talk to the property manager, she "backs him up 100%" because she's worked with for a long time. She called my husband and I liars even though we have pictures to show what had been done and that nothing had been fixed. She has yet to return any of our phone calls, blows us off in person and nothing is fixed. We live in a broken down mess and no one seems to care except us...the people living in it.

Seemed good, then went continually down-hill until we moved out 3 months short of the end of our lease. They weren't vey helpful whenever we needed their help, then we had to argue with the corporate office to get our deposit back. That is really what made me give this apartment complex a one-star. Very thin walls, dog poop, car break-ins, teenagers hanging out in parking lot after hours, smoking cigarettes/drinking/littering scratch off lottery tickets and bottles/food wrappers. Lawn got mowed during rain on more than one occasion, leaving huge tire marks/dents throughout the yard. Way too many inspections - they could consolidate them - I asked why they don't do the fire inspection and the semi-annual inspection at the same time, and the manager said because the fire inspector didn't want so many people with him. Okay, but then can't one group follow after the next? We had 4 or 5 inspections during our 9 months there, and had to have maintenance come about 6-8 times, almost every time not honoring our call-in-advance request. Nightmare if you have pets. Glad we got a house.

When AMLI owned the apartment complex it was maintained well, very personable staff, and the prices were comparable to the quality of the units. They are called "luxury" but they are generic white appliance, white formica countertops, ugly and outdated white/baby blue linoleum floors, thin walls with the cheapest fixtures you can find. The size of the apartments are great and the landscaping is very nice with so many grassy areas and trees. Tracy and the other leasing agents are always helpful and courteous, professional and responsive to issues!! It's just unfortunate that JRK hasn't put the effort into making them "luxury" apartments. The new ownership of JRK has drastically increased prices with no upgrades and less service and maintenance to the grounds. A lot of garbage left blowing around, cigarette butts everywhere and multiple vehicle break-ins. For the money I would suggest looking elsewhere. Nice place, but NOT for the price they are charging. Again, IF the prices were adjusted to what AMLI charged it's a great place to live and you just put up with the cheap "luxury" amenities, but for the price they are now charging you can find comparable apartments for 200-300 less. For these prices I recommend AMLI Arista, Bradburn Row, Prana, or Terracina. Those actually ARE luxury.

AMLI knew how to run this property, JRK (JERK) hasn't a clue. I'll leave it at that. I could write everything that is wrong or ran horribly but it won't do any good until the property is bought out to hopefully someone better.

The apartments are well laid out and the complex has a nice, walkable, park-like design with good connections to the many trails in the neighborhood. Unfortunately the new property owner seems to think this is all optional to maintain. Sidewalks and parking lots are no longer being cleared the same day after snow fall. When they do come around they drive atvs with a blade attached and leave ridges of snow blocking wheelchair ramps and parking places. They drive the vehicles into the landscaping breaking off branches, gouging the lawn, and dragging rocks onto the sidewalks where they hide under new snow for unsuspecting ankles. They've also stopped salting icy areas. Since the management change my rent hasn't gone down but the quality of living here has dropped from the 5 stars it used to be.
