This complex charged me $150 for bullsh*t! My movers left a small tv stand in my unit during the move-out an they said it took two of their maintenance men two hours to move it out. And charged me $75 an hour for it...Mind you I was consistently paying almost $1,000 a month on time every month for a year and they still did this shit to me. I would never recommend this property to anyone! ON TOP OF THAT MAINTAINANCE ALWAYS TOOK FOREVER TO FUCKIG RESPOND TO ANY WORK ORDER!
I've been a resident of Arium Barber Park; formerly Canden Reserve, for 7 years. My lease will be ending at the end of this month so I felt compelled to give an honest review. When Camdem Reserve managed this property up until 1.5-2 years ago, the leasing consultants and managers were very courteous and always had someone available to answer the phones- if they were busy or unavailable, they'd return your call within the hour. They were open 7 days a week to assist new applicants, as well as existing tenants with any concerns or questions. Since Arium Barber Park commenced managing this property it's very rare that they answer the phone. I called Arium Barber rental office 3 times last week and left my contact details and no one returned my call even after 7 days. I had to walk into the office to ask them to fax the residency form to the new complex that I'm moving to next month. They had the form sitting right there and never reached out to me to confirm that they received something for me from another complex nor did they fax it back to new apartment complex I'll be moving to. This was very unprofessional behavior and inconsiderate which held up my approval to move into the new complex. It should not have taken me to walk into their office to get things done- had they answered or responded to my 3 phone calls and messages, as well as the new complex trying to reach them by phone, I could have received my approval the very first day I applied. The biggest issue that I've had throughout my lengthy stay here are huge palmetto bugs- flying cock roaches. Every 30 days- even in the winter- I had to have my apartment treated by an exterminator because if I went 35 days without service, I would see 1-2 of them in my apartment every night until my apartment was treated. I am on the first floor so I can't say if everyone in this complex has the same issue if they're on the 2nd and 3rd floors, but if you read through other reviews on this site you'll see that this has been the biggest complaint. I am OCD and clean and disinfect my apartment every day so no matter how clean you are if you're on the first floor in this complex it's almost inevitable not to have roaches in your apartment. Overall, my building has been very quiet and I've always had friendly neighbors. I will say that the floors are very thin so I hear every footstep that my neighbor above makes and when in the bathroom I could hear my neighbors adjacent and upstairs using the bathroom and taking showers, but this is most apartment life if you don't live in a high rise which has concrete slab in between the floors. Well, that was my honest review and I'm not some disgruntle tenant lashing out. My rent was paid on time every month for 7 years- just providing viewers with my experience at this property.
Pretty happy with Arium so far. There have been a few hiccups along the way, but so far all of my issues have been resolved within a timely manner. The only recurring problem I've been dealing with is the public wi-fi hotspots never working, but I'm hoping Bright House can fix that in lieu of the people in the office. (It's Bright House's issue, anyway.)
This is a nice apt, and they try their hardest to take care of you. You have to understand they had a lot to fix once they took over from Camden, and are still in the process of improving everything - they've done a LOT so far. I love this place and I love the location. Maggie at the office is especially helpful and caring. I wasn't able to find anywhere else that was this nice and I was able to snag a good price too. The naysayers will be unhappy with anything, even if this is one of the best places in the area. Just my two cents.
Moving in here I should of read the reviews. It amazes me how much CRAP they get away with here!!!! I moved out in march and still not have received my security deposit back and it's JULY! Every time I call they make up some excuse on why I have not received it. The apartments and price itself are not too bad. It's the maintenance and staff that are the problems! It's bad enough not having washer and dryer in your apartment but having to use the GRIMEY and nasty ones they provide with built up soap and animal hair in it along with the dirty underwear and socks always left on the ground for months is not exactly what I find comforting. Not to mention if the washer and dryers even work. I have also never have to deal with a company who's had SO many computer issues or problems as much as Arium. You can never get a straight answer from anyone and they can NEVER "read their computers" so much hassle and so much stress for someone who just wants to pay their rent ahead of time. Please just save your time and find another place.
