he property was sold to "Berkshire" who seems like got the property "as is" with no great will for service and customer satisfaction and really "less then care" attitude. Here you pay one of, if not The highest rates in Redmond for any type of accommodation. 1 bedrooms are $1800-2100 and 2 bedroom $2700-2800. I have nothing against paying more for a great place to live in but getting practically nothing for your $ besides being near Redmond Town Center it is crazy! There are 3 other properties adjacent to "Elan" that are way cheeper with so much more amenities!!! You can get a great 2 bedroom for around $1800 with much more to offer and much more footage just few meters away. When we realized that we are paying way too much and getting practically nothing for our $, we decided to break the lease even if we have to pay almost $4000 (equal to a 2 month of rent). Well guess what, this is the point where the new management "couldn't find" or as they claim "you didn't sign a break out option with the previous management" therefore now they ask for a 3 months of lease equal to $6000 to let us go. Of course after such crazy amounts we have no other choice but staying here till the end of the lease. but by all means-PLEASE do not make our mistake! Don't fall for the trap!!! This might look like as a luxury living but honestly you can get so much much more for your $ with almost any neighbor property. P.S pay attention if you do decide eventually to move in for the followings: 1.There are a security issues, TV was stolen from the mail room, Cars were broken in to in the "gated covered parking". 2.There is a insulation problems in this building, the temperature can get over 90 degree at summer. 2.Some of the units have windows that can not be opened at all - specially if your unit is *25 (225/325/425/525/625) 4.Units facing courtyard will be very noisy due to other neighbors hanging out there. 5.Units facing Cleveland St. Are very noisy as all Cleveland being under construction. 6.Units facing Gilman St. might suffer from a kitchen smell from the "Tipsy Cow" restaurant. 7.Units on the 2nd floor facing the courtyard have zero to non privacy. Anyone who will be in the courtyard area is facing your apartment. And by all means do not take the top floor!!!! you will not pass the summer with the temperature and the insulation problems. I do hope this long review will help some of you. We already made our mistake but hope others will learn from it. Good luck you all.
Prior to Elan being purchased by Berkshire at the end of 2014, this was an OK place to live - but since the purchase - the place has become horrible - the building is the same - it's the attitude of the employees - essentially NO sense of organization, NO customer service. NOT related to the Berkshire purchase, but the PARKING is horrible - and NOT free nor inexpensive. The slots are barely able to accomodate a normal size car, and they have almost NO "non-compact" slots - so, unless you drive a Cooper Mini or SMART car - you're likely to get door dings or worse. There have been several cars broken in to in the "secure" garage - and management has NO intention of installing even the most basic of camera systems - thus - I have NO idea why anyone would rent here. I will NEVER rent a Berkshire property again. Ever.
this place is HORRIBLE !!! i've been trapped on the elevator two times now and had to call the fire marshal from inside the elevator -- it's out again just now - good luck on getting these people to fix anything here there's no air conditioning in the rooms and u can't get a full size car in 70% of the spaces - this place is a joke
