This place was great when I first moved in. A couple years later the property was bought out by Anterra and has gone downhill since. The very friendly and helpful management and maintenance team were replaced by a much less helpful and courteous staff. In the past when I had maintenance issues they were quickly resolved, sometimes within the same day or next day at the latest. Since the takeover by Anterra I've had maintenance requests linger for more than a month at times. Their excuse is that there are over 400 units so it takes time to get to them all. This was never an issue before. Staff and maintenance will make every excuse they can prior to putting forth the effort to simply resolve any problems for you. Warning. There are roaches here. Building 13 has a roach infestation and I've heard others complain from other buildings about the same thing. Disgusting! There is also dog $hit everywhere you go around the complex. No one cleans this up and it is consistently getting worse. Management is money hungry. They will try to nickel and dime you to death if you let them. Swimming pool upkeep is horrible here in the rear of the complex. One of the pools went out of service during the winter and remained that way throughout the winter and the ENTIRE summer. Mold, mildew and stagnant water became a breeding ground for mosquitoes due to this. I mentioned it several times to management but nothing was done for several months until finally later in the fall it was repaired and yet still poorly cared for. There is a high crime rate here. My vehicle was broken into 3 times during my residence the first 3 years. Also I've heard of others having the same issue. As a matter of fact I woke up one morning, headed to work, and saw my neighbor's car on blocks. He told me that he had all 4 wheels removed and stolen. This was right next to me in the parking lot where I park my car every day. I've made 2 police reports only to get my car broken into a 3rd time. There is supposed to a security officer on the premises but I have never seen one. The lofts are unimaginably hot in the summer. As heat rises there is nothing you can do about it because of the floor plans in the lofts. You can run the AC full blast all day and upstairs will still be unbearably hot. If you have a child or pet or elderly person living with you this could easily be life threatening to them as it gets dangerously hot upstairs during mid to post summer months. Also prepare for VERY high electric bills. The only positive I can think of is the location. It is great. Every thing you need is within walking distance and the new toll way is right next to the apartments. Other than that I would not recommend these apartments to my worst enemy.

If i could give these apts a zero star rate i would. they are infested with ants and wont do anything to fix it. they will bring an exterminator but that doesnt fix the problem. plus when something breaks they take forever to fix it. as well as promise me the "upgraded" apt but didnt give me one even though i pay for it. the staff is rude too

Don't sign a lease here. Lots of problems here. 1.) Heating/ Cooling. I had a loft apartment. It was DANGEROUSLY HOT up there during the summer, and it was nothing but a storage room. During the winter, it was the only place you could stay warm (as heat rises). The windows make it impossible to cool in the summer, the heat from the sun hits those windows and turns it into a greenhouse. It doesn't matter what you have the Air Con unit set to. Again, the loft will kill a small dog or child if left up there. And the winter? We had to "camp out" up in the loft to keep warm. The downstairs was just freezing. Yea, we used the heater, it wasn't enough. We had to turn the oven on and leave it open. Needless to say, the electric bill was about $200 a month there, so add that to your rent bill to get an idea of how much this place will cost to live in. It's the insulation issues. Which, also... means noise. I was above the pool, and people just partied all the time. With those big windows as a sound barrier, and the reverb from the apartment walls around the pool, it sounds like you've got the whole complex in your living room. Till all hours of the night. And security. A guy next to me in the back had his tires stolen off his car. All four tires. The thieves came in, jacked up the car, stuck bricks under it, and took his wheels. Wow. I was impressed actually- couldn't believe security was that bad you have to worry about your car tires. So then, when I left, I cleaned the apartment all night. Steamed carpet, etc. I turned the key in the next day. I had studied all night at UTA to meet an academic deadline, then went back home to turn my key in. It was 8am and the staff weren't going to be there until 9 am. I was dead exhausted, couldn't stay until 9 am, I needed to get to sleep. So I put the key in an envelope, and stuck it at the door with a note. So then I call and check on the key. Yes, they got it just fine. But they were pissed. They said I owed them $150 dollars. Because they didn't like that I didn't wait until 9am for their staff to get there to personally hand the key over. Well, whatever. They can kiss my ass on that one, we can just go to small claims court. In short, YOU WILL SPEND A FORTUNE on the electric bill because the design of the apartments in not conducive to keeping it cool in the summer or warm in the winter.

The Staff: Rude, careless, and well...ignorant. The Manager: Rude, money hungry, hangs up on you when you ask questions. Maintenance: Okay, Pretty nice guys. The Apartment: It was a dump! Cracks and Leaks everywhere! Do yourself a favor and do not live here, it's like living in hell. They will do anything to find a reason to charge you for something. It's a money pit!!! I moved out 6 months ago and I am still having to put up with their ignorant selves.

Honestly, you can't beat the price for the area these apartments are in. No, they don't have a fan or light in the bedroom, however the lightswitch is attached to a plug, so you should be fine. No one picks up their dog's poop, so beware of the grass. Management has been pretty nice, and they are under new management as of February 2009... so lets see how that goes.
