Management is friendly, maintenance people are friendly and do their work without bothering me. My 2 complaints are that Parklane raised the rent nearly 20% this past month and #2, some of the people that live here are really trashy (not everyone though). My apartment was really nice, new carpet, flooring, paint etc. I used the gym (open 24/7) 4 times a week and often was the only person in there. I would recommend this place to live, as long as you can get a good deal, and you meet your neighbors before you move in.

Don't Live Here! Why? Maintenance ruins more than they fix(really, they did. I was out of power for a week), management that treats you like the enemy, gunshots at night, and the absurdly high fees. "move in cleaning" fees, "move out cleaning" fees, "pre-clean" fees, "carpet" fees, "shampoo" fees, and more. I personally hired a professional shampoo company to clean our carpet, but that didn't stop them for charging $700 in "cleaning" the carpet alone. And i KNOW that the carpet was as clean as new. Oh, a cheap blind has one fin bent? $250. No joke, they WILL get you! Oh sure, it's got a new paint job and a computer room, but that's just lipstick on the broken pig of an apartment complex. And they still charge more than better apartments nearby. Absolutely no reason to live here. Unless you're on welfare and someone else(taxpayers) are footing the bill. Then you'll fit right in.

I'm sad to see other people had a negative experience at this place. I rented there for almost a year, ending Nov. 2014. Though rent did get raised by $85 at the end of my 9mo. lease, I had nothing but positive experiences with staff and maintenance. For low-income, I thought their set-up was wonderful, not depressing like the other places I looked at. I loved having access to the pool, tennis court, garden space, and exercise room for relieving stress, and their $15/mo wireless set-up was a big help - so was their open business center with printers and fax. The staff knows folks by name, and I got same-day help with maintenance. I did have to move after the rent got raised, but I really liked my little studio. All-new appliances, and only as big as I needed (no larger!) Good experiences with neighbors, and I liked the community "newsletter" every month. Good community building! Thanks guys!

What a ripoff. My fiance just moved out and is being charged $85 out of her deposit to clean the carpets that they are REQUIRED BY LAW to do. They "do this to everyone" and didnt feel the need to mention this before she moved in. We moved into Crown Plaza across the street, gained a bedroom, a bathroom and washer and dryer hookups for $30 more a month. Seriously, avoid this place at all costs..

Have lived here a year. Apt shown was nothing like unit rented. Moved in with reasonable rent. After one year, increase of $180! Noise travels between upstairs & downstairs. Can hear everything said in other unit. Although some updates, doors to each apt have big openings all around the door. High heating bill in winter months.
