The leasing staff themselves are brilliant, full of information, easy to approach, Michelle was fantastic, clearly popular with residents and obviously why, very genuine. As for the concierges, the robust fellow on a weekend was equally charming and helpful, more than could be said for the woman named Linda, who wouldn't get up from her chair short of an Earthquake. The Manager is rarely seen and when is, acts like he's your bank manager, Rarely have you felt tension from staff the way you do with this Manager. When he's not there, they smile, clearly feel at ease. I've now been told reliably, this Manager came with threats from the area supervisor, such was his reputation. Replacing Ed who by all accounts was respected and liked by all staff and residents, the current one acts like you should be grateful he concerns himself. I have never seen him actually deal with anybody direct, passing it off to others to deal, often undermining their ability and confidence, this I have seen and many still refer to, his name, Joel! Cleaners that barely speak English but do actually work well. As for living at this complex, DON'T take anything in the highrise, it is wooden construct and noisy by nature. High prices to all apartments, unless you deal with the leasing staff themselves who will attempt to take into account what they can. The manager, the one Concierge, are the main concerns, nothing is done, none of them are disciplined, regardless. AVOID them both where you can and check on packages a LOT! Michelle & Nicole (Assistant manager) have made a huge difference here, pleasant and honest.
I almost never comment on these things, but I felt I had to comment on the Post Carlyle property. I've lived in the DC area for 12 years at five different buildings and the Post Carlyle Alexandria is by far the best. The management is amazing -- Ed and Matt are extremely helpful, understanding and professional. They processed my application in under three hours and they helped me through my move out with ease. The building itself and the amenities are incredible. I felt like I was at a brand new four-star hotel. And the rent was very reasonable for the area. Like I said, I very rarely comment on these thing but I felt compelled to because I had a truly great experience with the Post Carlyle.
