We are in the process of moving in here. I have been completely satisfied so far. I was skeptical due to the size of the apartment, but the attitudes and professionalism of the office staff and the area compensate for it. We have been working with Meredith and she is just lovely. Very prompt and kept in touch with me the entire time she was processing our application and was so willing to work around my partners military schedule to get us approved and moved in. She really listened to what I wanted in an apartment and sat down and went over everything coming available in our time frame and was able to find me exactly what I wanted! I was very impressed! I am excited to continue working with Meredith to get moved in and settled and hope our experience continues to be as positive as it has been thus far!

So I don't know what happened between all the reviews from six months ago to today, but our experience at Farm Gate has been relatively satisfying. We signed a lease in February and have had no issues since. No maintenance issues, nothing has broken. Any time we've gone into the leasing office for packages or questions with things around the complex, Megan has been the nicest employee I've ever talked to. Some of the other employees in the office aren't the nicest and leave you waiting for a few minutes before they even say hi to you, but it's not all of them. The covered parking that's included with your contract is really nice, we got lucky and our spot was right across from the stairs to our unit. We've had a couple issues with people parking there, but after calling into the security we haven't had problems since. Our neighbors are super nice and I rarely hear them doing anything. With the complex being right next to a high school, game nights get pretty loud but that's to be expected. We haven't seen any black mold in our unit so I can't complain about that either. I guess we'll see how difficult the moving out process will be in a few months...

My husband and I had an experience that went like so: - Moved in, the place seemed great. Office workers were friendly and when we had our first problem (the fan in the bathroom wasn't working) it was promptly fixed. Then- - We discovered the seal on our fridge was broken. We called and called and after a week they finally sent someone, who opened the fridge, looked at the broken seal, and said "It's just shaped like that." We had to stick a rag in it to keep the cold air from escaping. - Twice. TWICE. I had just stepped out of the shower and was dressing when a maintenance worker (one time for "preventative maintenance" and one time because he had come to the wrong apartment!) entered our apartment without knocking or ringing the bell. This happened TWO TIMES. Then- - The batteries in our garage door opener died. When my husband took it in to the office to see about replacing them, the lady working took it to the back office and made him wait for almost twenty minutes. When she finally came back out she told him it was broken and we would have to pay $50 for a new one! He refused, and at that point she told him they could take the garage door off the rails if he wanted to open and close it by hand. He agreed, and two weeks later we came home to find a stolen car hidden in our garage. - The garages are assigned to apartments. Whether you want it or not, you will pay for it. A month after refusing to pay for a new garage door opener, we discovered that the door had been put back on the rail, and one of the new office employees had re-assigned our garage to one of his family members that had recently moved in. After many fights and calls to management, we were ultimately forced to continue paying for a garage we no longer had access too. - Since the apartments are right behind the high school, there was a MASSIVE theft problem. Several cars were broken in to on a nightly basis. One night SIXTEEN cars had windows smashed and items stolen. Farm Gate refused to acknowledge this until roughly a month before we moved out, when they finally had patrol cars drive through at night once a week. - Many times while visiting the office to attempt to sort out the problem with the garage, my husband and I witnessed extremely inappropriate acts and language between two male office employees and one female employee. The made sexual remarks and comments, and many times we witnessed her hiking up her clothing to sit on their desks. - At the end of our lease I went to give our 30-day notice (we were not told by the office 30 day notice was required. We were told this by a neighbor who was in the middle of fighting the $1300 dollars they wanted her to pay for not giving them notice) and when I asked for a copy of the termination notice, I was told they didn't have access to the back office, where the copier was. I had to wait for an hour for them to call someone who "had the proper access". - Finally, almost a month after moving out, we received a bill from Farm Gate for $869 for "damages" to the apartment. I had gone through and taken dozens of pictures, as we'd been warned that this sort of thing had a tendency to happen. We'd even gone so far as to replace our bedroom door, which had been broken. After multiple trips for two weeks and taking in copy after copy of the pictures I had taken, the bill was finally dropped. Bottom line: DO NOT MOVE IN TO THESE APARTMENTS. I PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL COME TO REGRET IT.

This was our experience: * We had no response to any of our service calls (help with a smoke alarm that would not stop going off throughout the night, sliding screen door off its hinges, etc.) * Mold (you'll find on most ratings websites this is the case) * If you do not meet certain requirements, they will do a hard pull on your credit. Since I had changed jobs right before we moved in, even though we have great credit and more than enough buying power, the hard pulled our credit. * The management, unannounced, sometimes did not show up for work. * The contract dictates you give 30 days notice to vacate. We lost our contract, so we called management to ask them if we needed to do anything prior to moving out. They said there would be a final walkthrough, and that other than that, we could just wait out our lease. They failed to mention this important point, and so far it is costing us more than 1,300 dollars; apparently this is not uncommon, either * They did not communicate with us using any other means except for written notices on the apartment door. Since we moved into a house before our lease terminated, we did not see any of these until it was too late On the whole, I find the business to be unethical, unprofessional, incompetent, and irresponsible. The amenities are pretty good, you have covered parking, and the utilities are not bad at all (though the Internet, which is NOT free but built into the contract if you read it, is too slow to watch a Youtube video), but you will likely run into other costs, and of course run all the risks associated with mold.

These apartments all have black mold. Among other problems. Be careful what you sign, read the whole contract. Every word. You should treat it like you are a Lawyer. The apartment complex loves to add fees once people leave.
