My fiancé and son spent almost 3 years here and absolutely loved it until now. Unfortunately they do not get to finish their lease which expires in August and are being forced to move out early because of a crybaby neighbor who moved in beneath them about 9 months ago. Ever since the complaints started my fiancé has tried to quiet my 3 year old son, they have even stopped having company over but still receive complaints. They tried to transfer to a first floor, were even willing to pay a $200 transfer fee and $400 more in monthly rent but the office refused to let them because of a past rental owe which is being paid off. Not only are they being forced to move but also having to pay a $1500 buy out fee which I am really not happy about! Overall this is a lovely place, very clean and well taken care of by maintenance staff but I would recommend if you have children especially small children move to a first floor because once you receive a complaint from then on the office will always take their word over yours.

I rented this place believing it was perfect it was across the street from where I work, has a great staff, maintenance is always very helpful and prompt, newly renovated units and the building was in process of being painted. The price is high but what isn't these days and I believed due to everything I've described above that it was worth it. I have lived here for 4 months and due to the neighbor above me have learned to hate being home. I've made numerous complaints which have fallen on deaf ears (neighbor upstairs) and have been told I need a 3rd party in order for the management company to do anything about it (legally) 3rd party meaning calling the cops or the after hours security team which by the way seem to not really care whenever I've called regarding other issues. I guess that's outsourcing for you. I cannot bring myself to burden the cops with this issue as I believe they have better things to do then come over here in hopes they'll agree with something I deal with on a daily basis and take it as personally as I do. Bottom line the culprit is protected while I suffer to endure yet another 8 months or but hey I was given one option, I could transfer apartments with oh yea a $200 transfer fee and let's not forget about moving expenses. I'm disheartened and feel I've been blinded by flashy new paint and kind staff. Location is not only important when buying a house but renting too and I believe the location may be the problem, keep looking if you want to steer clear of immature disrespectful neighbors protected by the leasing laws that protect them. You won't win here.

I'm giving this place one star, because I don't think I can give it 0. You know how if you buy something nice, and don't take care of it, it's not so nice anymore? Well, that's what happened to the Skye Crest apartments, formerly Bentley. The apartment used to be operated by Carmel, which in my opinion is one of the best leasing companies I have ever encountered. Skye Crest aka Fairfield Residential mangement is a 180 from what I was used to. "Fake," as written by previous reviewers hit the nail on the head. I can't articulate the point better then them, so I won't even try. Fairfield took a beautiful property and turned it upside down. Routine maintenance is slow or simply does not happen. Repair requests are ignored or put on the back burner until you ask three times. Property upkeep is relatively non-existent. Sprinklers overflow, pot holes abound, doggie bags are not refilled, dog poop is everywhere, and what used to be lush green lawn and flowers is now dirt and grime. A hail storm hit the property several months ago. The screens in each apartment still bare the holes. They are not fixed, not after months!!! The pool is disgusting. The work out room is in disrepair and the equipment does not work properly. The business room is routinely overrun with children and not ever stocked properly with paper or toner. I could go on and on, but with some of the things I've heard from other residents I won't be the first or the last person to make these complaints. Sure, they painted the exterior a few months ago, but have you ever heard the expression "you can't put lipstick on a pig?" Well, Skye Crest tried, and failed. And unfortunately to those unlucky enough to move in now, you'll be burdened with the cost of this paint. Even worse, there is no longer sound proofing between floors. When I moved into these apartments, you would not even know someone lived above you. Now? Well, let's just say the noise in unbearable. I'm guessing here, but my guess is that they took another cheap way out with the carpet pad and instead of premium padding and carpet which provides a barrier to the sound, they went with the thin cheap stuff. If you happen to be unlucky enough to have an upstairs neighbor on a different schedule then you, don't plan on sleeping, ever, and don't plan on apartment management caring. They will tell you there is nothing they can do. The community is now a bunch of disrespectful, loud, jerks which I'm sure is a product of an aloof, disrespectful and fake staff. Do yourself a favor, and find a different home. Skye Crest no longer feels safe, is not clean, is noisy, and any concern will fall on deaf ears if you bring it up to property management. I get the impression they simply do not care. When the property changes hands yet again, I'm sure things will improve as the bones are good, but until then if you plan to rent here...don't say I didn't warn you!

Amanda in the front office was always very friendly and helpful. The complex would have every other month gathering that was fun and a great way to get to know the other residence. Gab the handyman was the best - one call and he would soon be knocking at the door. Every time he fixed what ever the problem was and clean up was done. As the handymen would drive by on the golf carts they were always friendly with a wave - 7-30-14 the complex has changed from the Bentley to Skye Crest - the building have been painted - but the parking lot still have major pot holes. The pool area has new chairs, but the ground around the pool is rough on bare feet. also the pool edge tiles are grimy dirty. The complex changed requirement to pay online for rent and water/garbage tried to set it up but continued to get error emails went down to the office - set it up again, the office also got an error message - - told me to go home and try it again on my own computer - I started this new way of doing this with no help on accomplishing it on time - and no grace time to do so - - even thou my bank has said each time (total of four) we have it set up right but the complex hasn't apply and gone through from there end. Only solutions from the complex was go get multitude of money orders (because money orders only go up to 1k).

Be careful when reading reviews for this place. The ownership was turned over from Carmel to Baron Properties in mid 2012. When it was Carmel, things were perfect, but Baron just isn't doing the place justice. Repairs aren't done right - you'd think things were fixed up with chewing gum and duct tape sometimes. There's grafitti on some buildings, drainage problems in the lawns and parking lots, and the office staff is pretty unresponsive when you have questions. What's more, they've jacked up the rent astronomically, and it's just insane what they are charging now. They are currently renting our floorplan for 34% more than what we signed our original lease for with Carmel. They've apparently had problems with drunk idiots at the pool, but instead of just kicking them out, they banned alcohol, which is pretty unfortunate for the responsible folks. Lots of dog poop and dogs off of leashes. They work on their time, not yours, too. They feel like if they notify you that they'll be doing an inspection of your home or maintenance, etc., that they're welcome to enter, even if you cannot be there and want to be, even when it isn't an emergency. The place is beautiful, and that's the only reason it's getting two stars, but who knows how long that will last in Baron's hands. I'd tread carefully here, because it's already on it's way downhill. (However, in response to the gentleman (Ben Clark) who complained in his review on here about being charged for two extra months even though he handed in his keys: Just like at ANY apartment complex, you are required to give notice before you plan to vacate your apartment, even if your lease is expiring. For Bentley (at least in our lease) this is 60 days/2 months. Plus, they obviously want you to continue leasing with them, so they make sure to send you a notice that your lease is expiring soon telling you what you need to do to either renew (complete with pricing), what you need to do to allow your lease to end at the date you signed on (sending a notice to vacate at least 60 days in advance), and what would happen if you failed to do either (you continue on a month-to-month price until you submit your 60 day notice to vacate). Not exactly shady practice there - I'll give them that.)
