I visited Westchester Tower just to see about renting an apartment. I'm not a tenant. After reading all these negative reviews I was quite concerned. I spoke with two staff members: Ron, who does maintenance, and Ashtony (?), who is the leasing consultant. They were nothing but professional and honest. When I asked about roaches, they admitted that the problem was known and the property was systematically and consistently working towards correcting it. Ron was especially helpful, in fact I saw him picking up advertisements and inserts people had **thrown on the floor** in the mail room when the trash can was empty and accessible while he was on the way to his apartment. I didn't even know he worked there because his jacket was off and he ended up telling me he worked for the apartment building and showed me his jacket. This leads me back to the roach problem. Bad tenant behavior does not equal bad management. It's one thing if management is unresponsive and does nothing to fix a problem, but management cannot make tenants change behaviors like cleaning up their kitchens and taking out trash so not to attract roaches. If people throw mail on the floor when there's a trash can within arm's length, what happens in their apartments? Does it now follow there will be pests? Also, they were doing construction in 2014 to upgrade the building which causes pests to start migrating. Take my review for what it's worth; like I said I don't live at Westchester, but the customer service was fine. Ashton said she'd been there a year and was knowledgeable. I don't know if I'll live there or not and maybe I caught them on a good day but my brief experience was fine.

It has been 1.5 months living at Towers of Westerchester Park. I don't know why this community has bad reviews on different portals. Maintainence staff is upto the mark and all of my requests are handled in a timely and friendly manner. So far I don't have any bad experience at this community and its a pleasant stay, we really did an extensive search in this area for apartment before moving to this community and we are glad that we made the right deicision.

6200 westchester park. WORST management team EVER!!!!!! Rude, Lazy.. They don't care about the quality of residents' life(roaches, elevator, package delivery etc..) . They only care about the interior of lobby where they stay.

I lived at the CONDO next door (#6100). It was an extremely nice, immaculately maintained building, although I could complain that the plumbing was rather noisy. My neighbors included retired doctors, judges seated in Hyattsville, and a number of U of M professors and NASA researchers. We had a monthly happy hour in the small bar/party room. The building has a very professional, luxurious feel despite being relatively small (20 stories X 20 apartments per floor). We shared the pool with #6200. Do yourself a favor and try to rent a unit in #6100 (there are often units available) rather than risking the considerably iffier crowd next door in #6200. Always be leery of profoundly bad reviews: the reviewers typically found the place objectionable because, e.g., they took umbrage at NOT RECEIVING RENT PAYMENTS ON TIME. Imagine that, will you, now?

I just moved in this apartment June 3, 2014 and to be honest I thought I found the place of my dream during the walk through, maybe because I thought it was a big upgrade with he floor and all the space, but boy was I wrong. My biggest issue is the roaches ! Never in my life have I lived in a place with roaches, I've never experienced this and I'm just completely turned off especially with all the money my family is paying. Who wants to come home from a hard day of work to a house full of roaches? We would have never thought this place had roaches but we were so wrong. We complained to the management and they have the exterminator come by every other week but it's been a month and it's still roaches. My next issue is the AC/Heat ! The apartment doesn't really get cold, you can blow it all day and it's still hot, like they need to update their system and with this expensive rent I don't see why it hasn't been done. It's just ridiculous I thought we were moving somewhere better but this isn't better at all. We also have to pay for parking which I think is a rip off; like most apartments don't charge you for that? I mean the area is nice but this isn't worth it ! I don't plan on renewing my lease and this was a lesson.
