In tropical climates, bananas do not experience true dormancy. They grow continuously, producing new leaves and fruit throughout the year. This means fertilizer schedules remain consistent. A banana tree fertilizer with a high potassium content, such as 6-2-12 or 8-2-12, is applied every two to four weeks during the growing season. Even during cooler or wetter months, when growth may slow slightly, feeding continues at a reduced rate. The plant's roots remain active, and nutrients are absorbed efficiently.
