Grocery Outlet
Sean Delizo: I remember going to this old Safeway as a child when my family used to live in the area. Although this Grocery Outlet may be dilapidated juxtaposed to its peers, do not let the visuals deter you. This Grocery Outlet has an substantial organic produce section and surprisingly has a wide selection of gluten free and lactose free products.
Elder & Pines
Sean Delizo: The newest addition to the Mosswood community, Elder & Pines is a second hand/consignment store marketed towards the "trendiest" men. If you are looking for a Penny board (formerly known as a banana board) or if you want to get a pair of vintage work boots that someone else did all the work in, this is the store for you.
Taco Truck El Grande
Sean Delizo: Now, being from San Diego, I am definitely biased against the Mexican food in Oakland, but I must admit, out of the countless taco trucks and shops I have visited, this truck must be one of the better ones. Parked on Broadway and 29th 5 days a week, this truck is the old reliable for the Harrison Street neighborhood.
Temescal Alley Barber Shop
Sean Delizo: Let me start by saying, it is not an overstatement that this is the best barbershop I've ever been too. These guys really know their way around a head of hair, and share their bourbon with the customers. Get there early! The line can be over an hour long, but trust me, the wait is worth while.

College Av:Miles Av
Sean Delizo: During daylight and business hours, this parking lot serves exactly as that, a parking lot. Come 6 pm, this parking lot becomes a bike polo arena with multiple bikers attempting to hit a plastic ball into their opponents' goal. After polo finishes up, Thursdays at 9 pm, the childhood sport of Foursquare takes over making this parking lot into a underground sports arena.

Boot and Shoe Service
Sean Delizo: On any given weekend night, you can find the Boot and Shoe Service line spilling out into the street. With a intimate ambience, dimmed lights, strong drinks and Italian-inspired cuisine, Boot and Shoe Service is a place fit for individuals who like the finer things in life served in small portions.
Cycle Sports
Sean Delizo: Cycle Sports on Grand is your typical spandex bike shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, almost any bike part or tool you could need under the sun and free coffee on the weekends. The most notable attribute of this shop is the group rides they organize. From beginner to semi-pro, Cycle Sports is a popular meet-up for spandex cyclists to tour some of the best roads in the Bay Area.
Silver Screen Video Center
Sean Delizo: Quite honestly the best video rental shop in Oakland. Silver Screen offers a loyal customers card, ie after 10 or so rentals, your next one is on the house. They also do a weekday (Monday through Thursday) deal offering 4 rentals for under $10 and let's be honest, in this economy, that's a steal.
Camino
Sean Delizo: Camino offers its patrons a different dining experience than they may be used to. With communal tables, you may sit with a group of people you may have never met before, but it is a superb way to strike a conversation with a stranger. Camino has tasty drinks and attentive service. Not to mention many of their fresh ingredients are prepared in a wood fired oven.
