Tanya Demjanec
I'm a Kirkwood resident of 13+ years. I was one of the original members of the Kirkwood Neighbors' Organization (KNO) and participated in writing the bylaws for the KNO's 401c3 nonprofit status. As I changed and grew (single → married → mother experienced with private and public pre and elementary schools) so have I seen changes and growth in Kirkwood. This Intown Atlanta neighborhood has much character, charm, amenities and great neighbors. Let me show you Kirkwood!
Le Petit Marche
Tanya Demjanec: The fare at Le Petit Marche is high quality and consistent, sure to please every time. Kids menu is a hit! Charming French Country decor is sprinkled with lovely and unique retail offerings that please the eye as much as the food pleases the palate. Serving breakfast and lunch daily and offering catering.
Turner Monumental AME Church
Tanya Demjanec: Turner Monumental A.M.E. (African Methodist Episcopal) Church in Kirkwood has been around for over 110 years and we're proud to have this century of heritage call Kirkwood home. The Kirkwood Neighbors' Organizaiton (KNO) holds its monthly meeting in the basement level meeting space of Turner Monumental AME on the 10th of each month at 7:00 p.m.
YMCA Youth and Teen Development Center
Tanya Demjanec: The outdoor pool is lovely! Plenty of outdoor seating and tables with umbrellas. Has a separate baby pool and a zero entry along one side. 4 lanes for swimming laps, the water mushroom AND a fabulously fun slide for play! Pool is open to all YMCA members. The rest of the facility is for use by youth and teen programs.
Kirkwood Car Wash
Tanya Demjanec: Kirkwood Car Wash was a pioneering small business in this Intown Atlanta neighborhood. Started over 15 years ago, KCW is one of the last do-it-yourself spray-bay car washes in the Atlanta area and has become a Kirkwood landmark. KCW provides a safe, clean environment to wash your vehicle, the equipment is in good working order and it works GREAT! The owner is often onsite. KCW supports and contributes to local causes, but also sponsors and hosts local events. KCW is a hub of community life.
Bob and Harriet's Home Bar
Tanya Demjanec: Appeals to both those seeking a dinner spot and those seeking nightlife! Great food, friendly staff that doesn't change, the presence of the owner -- and a full cast of regulars give The Pullman a true "hometown" feel. Try their featured Eggroll-Of-The-Day: it's sure to be interesting. No smoking; doors are often wide open providing full access to the busy pedestrian sidewalk. Great for people & dog watching.
