I have lived here almost two years and love it. It is close to the hustle and bustle of Hollywood and Runyon, but feels so serene and peaceful once I get home. The interior courtyard with a pool and hot tub feel like I am on vacation at a resort. The gym was recently updated so well that I was able to cancel my LA Fitness membership. My rent only went up $25 when I added another year to my lease. I did a ton of research when my lease was up and could not find a better deal in this area. Most people have lived here for years, so good luck getting in. But if you can, you will love it!
Terrible management (Triumph) and overpriced apartments. I'm not going to go into detail since Google is so terribly public and I don't want to be Debbie Downer on the Internets but be forewarned...these guys are crooks and are so for a variety of reasons. I was also brutally mugged right outside the front door of the building. Quite brutally, as a matter of fact. No, not management's fault but it certainly doesn't bode well for the property. I try to refrain from negative reviews but I had an awful experience with this particular management company. My advice? Steer clear of Savoy West. There are plenty of fabulous alternatives in West Hollywood where you're likely to have a much more pleasant experience.
So, I have been here over a year now and LOVE it. No noise... none... you would think the place was dead. Very rarely do I hear other people in the building. Music does go through side walls though. TV noise isn't a problem, but if you play music with a lot of bass it will travel (but, that is pretty much anywhere you live). Everyone I have met is super super considerate about the noise though. If someone is playing their music too much, you can just tell the landlady and she takes care of it (or just ask them yourself :P). For those complaining about the noise, uhh...did you even talk to the landlady about it? This is the quietest place I have ever lived in.... The landlady is really nice also. She is very helpful and has any problems fixed as fast as possible from the couple of handimen that are always here. The frig in the studio apartment was smaller than I had thought, but it works fine (it is a half frig). That isn't their fault haha, just something I forgot to ask about. The location ROCKS, a couple blocks away is the grocery store and pretty much everything is really close. Never had an issue with parking or the gate... never had an issue with safety... never had an issue with either of the elevators... and never had any trouble with ghosts (o.O). Now, the building NEXT to this one seems to have more relaxed noise issues though. Sunday or saturday night at about 9:00 maybe once or twice a month the building nextdoor seems to play their music a bit loud.... usually lasts for about 30 min to an hour before they stop. It isn't anything that would go over the TV, but still annoying ((I am really sensitive about sound haha, ANY music drives me nuts)). Meh, but that is the only problem I have found and that isn't really the managers fault....
I've been here for almost a year now and I really enjoy it. The area is safe, not far away from all the Hollywood nightlife, but also very close to "the hills". The residence is very clean, and the people that are working here are very helpful when you need something. As far as I'm concerned I can't never hear my neighbors! I think this place is definitely a good place to stay !
EXTREMELY expensive. Despite the beautiful view, the complex was dissapointing. For the price you paid... the stove, sinks, toilets, and pretty much everything wasnt upkept. Everything was constantly breaking. AND sometimes took forever to get fixed. The garage gate was also not opperating properly most of the time. So, sometimes you couldnt park in the garage or the garage gate was open 24 hours for anyone to walk in. During one of these times I had to park on the streets and my car was broken into... there were also reports of other people who had cars being broken into in the "gated" garage. Describing the exercise facility as a closet with a treadmill was a perfect description. Also, the laundry system was atrocious. I was constantly unable to do laundry at the apartment because I wasnt available during the times that the manager was. Since you could only fill your card in the office this was a problem. ESPECIALLY since there was always a note saying "will be back in 15 minutes." So, basically to get your laundry done you had to jump through hoops of fire.
