The only thing to like about this place is that it is very much quiet, even for the weekend, at least on the side I currently reside. Otherwise save your money and do not, DO NOT MOVE HERE. Reason being is since I've moved here they've done nothing to fix my water issue it fluctuates badly, one minute it's cold the next very hot, to where your standing in the corner waiting for it to cool down, then back to cold and vice versa. This isn't a singular apartment issue either but a complex wide issue, even the washers fluctuate in water temp so really doesn't matter what setting you use to wash. The construction is annoying but by next month supposedly they are to be done. So far construction has managed to cut cable wires knocking out residents Internet and cable and somehow managed to mess up the electricity! Guess who stayed hungry cause they couldn't cook and had to poop in the dark thanks to those guys? Not just me I assure you They also like to leave the front gate open for the construction, my vehicle was broken into in broad daylight thanks to this wonderful idea.. Thanks management! Great call guys must be really hard just to open up the gate when construction needs to be let in. Really looking out for your residents. Parking! With all the construction if you plan to live here come with the hopes of being home right after work otherwise you'll find yourself talking to the security guard about where you can park without getting towed which usually ends in a shrug and an "I don't know" unless you want to dish out an extra 20 a month for an assigned parking spot. In the front office you'll see a new face every other month or so, not too sure why but they can't keep a steady staff and they manage to lose your payment and post it to another's account. I kept my records and was able to dispute this after being accused of being late on payment and I've always been on time, my copy of payment had THEIR signature on it and I still was asked if I was sure "nothing was written on the paper just now" after I specifically said it was a copy THEY gave me. I was not the only one this has happened to as I've spoken with some of our other neighbors. I wouldn't move here unless it was to transition yourself into a better home, no more than 6 months, or a last choice to live and pressured to move here and have home defense.
This place is run down. Suppose to be a gated community when the gates are always broke. Feel as though I need to replace the suspension in my car because of all the uneven concrete and horrible speed bumps. Have had constant AC problems and water heater issues. Floors are very uneven and the whole apartment is really outdated. The only good thing is the price for these apartments. If I were you, look somewhere else and don't bother stopping by this place.
Horrible...I moved in August 1, 2014. I have started looking for an apartment now September 19, 2014. The apartment complex had me moving in with a crack and hole in my bedroom window, shelves Not installed correct, holes under the cabinets, ceiling panel hanging down, unclean carpet, paint scraped off wall in kitchen, toilet in guest bathroom not flushing. 2 1/2 weeks to get some of that fixed. Yesterday, I walked into my apartment to find my air conditioner running, tv box on and toilet seat up (I'm a female). I felt so freaking violated!!! I went to express my concerns about this to (I think her name is Jordan) the manager. This (what she is) had an attitude. She tried to be strong in defending her people but hell she nor her staff don't even know who goes in and out of people's apartments. I asked why don't they have notes placed on our doors to say that they were there and whatever they worked on and signed off by her (THE MANAGER or HEAD OF MAINTENANCE). She stated that they don't do that. What kind of PROFESSIONAL COMPANY is this. Damn! As soon as my lease is up I'M OUT!!! this is so UNPROFESSIONAL!
Based on my experience here, this place isnt so bad for the 4 months Ive been here. I mean every where you go theres going to be crazy people or law breakers but as far as people its pretty diverse, white, black, mexican, etc. As far as the complex this place is a flood zone for down stairs apartments. Ours has flooded near the front door just recently and we cant have that so either they relocate us or we make a letter agreement to break lease. As for as the apartments I can only speak for ours, nice closets new appliances but everything else sucks! As far as staff Id give them 4 stars because theyve gotten things taken care of at a decent amount of time id say. Would I reccomend this place to someone is the main question..... Personally NO. You can get better with the ammount of money you pay here.
Oct 2013 I have lived at The Oaks of Cypress Station since 2005. I have seen the good and the decline as well as roughly a 1/2 dozen property management companies &/or managers come and go. Until quite recently we were seriously considering not renewing when our lease came up. Until now the place has suffered from an overall lack of repair both to the infrastructure and apartments, an ever rising crime rate plus a prevalent attitude in the office that the tenants were an interruption to their day, not the reason that they were here. I had occasion after several incidents with which I was less than pleased to call the office and ask for the local Riverstone Residential Corporate Office number to make a complaint about the way we had been treated and the staff's attitude in general. Noell readily gave me the number but also told me they would likely refer me back to her as she was the Property Manger and she would very much like a chance to discuss my problems with me. She took almost 2 hours to go over them and my general observations of what was wrong with the complex. Never since I arrived had anyone in the office given me frank straight honest answers or admitted any short comings they way she had. Several of my problems were addressed w/in 24 hours. Two others I was informed were problems for not only me and procedures had been put in place to correct them so they should not be encountered again. I was given her e-mail address to contact her directly. She took notes on several of my observations and suggestions to pass along to her Corporate office for their review. I know for a fact this has happened because on a subsequent call to request maintenance for a problem she informed me that Corporate was looking into acquiring a version of my suggestion from their suppliers before turning to the source I had provided. That has NEVER happened before. Last week I suffered an attempted home invasion/burglary while at home. The speed with which the staff responded and the level of support and honest caring I received from Noell and (Rosa from the office didn't want to tell me what his name was) her Chief of Maintenance Supervisor was something I have never experienced here prior. I made several I felt reasonable requests and she agreed to them as long as her corporate office consented. She issued a warning letter to everyone in the complex, something that previously had not happened with out a great deal of uproar when there was criminal activity in our area. Instead of residents manning the gate we now have a Professional Security Patrol. The gate to the community now finally functions as a security gate 24/7 as it was always intended to be not just when someone is in the gatehouse. Are The Oaks at Cypress Station w/o any problems? No its not. One of the ones remaining is that the office staff other than Noell are all temps and can do or tell you nothing w/o first checking with her or Corporate, Are Noell and Riverstone Residential doing their level best and making an honest effort to erase the problems brought on by at least 8 years of poor management? Yes they are. Will I continue to live here? We have several months yet before we have to make a hard call on that but if the improvements continue and the Property Management continues to listen to the Residents concerns and make the much needed improvements then yes I most likely will. Rating is 3 stars which is up from the one I would have given it prior to the arrival of Riverstone & Noell. If things continue to improve I will probably revisit the rating at the end of the year and upgrade it depending on progress made.
