EDIT: 1 year later. I have dropped this review from 5 stars to 3 because of a few things... The new management is (though very friendly and helpful) sneaky and recently tried to get everyone to renew their leases NINE MONTHS BEFORE IT RAN OUT. The promised that they would "lock-in" the rate from 2015 if we signed up again... I'm sorry but I'm not going to be pressured to resign my lease 9 months before it runs out. None of these apartments have a washer and dryer, only the "hook ups." Decent place to live, good location, but way overpriced.
This place is perfect, in my opinion: It's in the woods, on the bus stop, a 20-minutes walk to Carrboro, and a few minutes walk to two of the best schools in the nation - The Villages' location couldn't be better! The mix of families and students, long-term and short-term residents, and people from all over the world makes The Villages a diverse and healthy place for building a life. The Villages is not built on a flat grid, but on curved lines over gently rolling hills, making it feel kind of like a campground or a park. This is my ninth year in The Villages, and each year at lease renewal time I've tried to find a better place, just to be sure that I am living where I want to live. Now that I am free to live anywhere in the Triangle, I am ready to move somewhere else, but I just cannot find a place that is as comforting and beautiful. This is my home, and if you are apartment-hunting, I really recommend you make it yours, also.
I am a current resident. the pool is a little cold but it is nice, the gym is open 24 h and the equipment is in good conditions, the rent price is fair, and they answer very fast my inquiries and questions through email. Marissa Wolff has helped me a lot. I will recommend this apartments overall I like it.
I dread even giving this place a 1 star, but I had to in order to post this. This place sucks. The management is rude, ruthless and greedy. All they are is out to get your money. They over charge us by ATLEAST $6 every time we have to pay them. The apartments are WAY over priced and everything looks crappy and old. They did renovations in the kitchen while we were already living in it and they left a mess in our apartment. They also broke a couple of items of ours while they were doing the renovations because they never told us they were going into the bathroom to do some work and they moved things that they had no right to move.
This a lovely place to live. The units are good, clean and updated. Once we were shown the units, I was sold. The amenities are great too, especially the pools and the updated fitness center. The pet park and play ground are convenient to have right on site so I hardly have to leave, though I love that the complex is so close to Franklin Street. The only downside I'd say is it gets kind of noisy near the pools, but I'm not that bothered. The manager is friendly, but I haven't put in any maintenance requests yet so I can't say how speedy they are in responding to them.
