I live here currently. I sadly have about 3 months left.Spiders, oh man don't get me started. When we moved in my wife had to spend 2 days cleaning out the cabinets alone. Everything was dirty. She found tons of dead spiders and insects. On the daily my wife finds spiders. They come in to spray, but it really doesn't do much. They don't fix regular repairs very often. For example, the towel rack has been broken since we moved in. The bathtub is stained a yellow color/brown color. The fact we have to pay so much and even more on energy curtains and box fans astonishes me. The summer is terrible. The heating and air units are so old. Our daughter has broken out in heat rashes all summer, she is 4 months old. My wife had heat hives. We complained to get the air conditioner fixed, they told us to put foil on the windows. We had to buy box fans. My wife and daughter spend their time in the inner most room of apartment with two fans and black out curtains during the evenings. My wife has had to go sit in the car with our daughter because she literally has gotten dehydrated and suffered from heat exhaustion. The electric bill is 150 to 200 for a 2 bedroom. Everything is out of date. They tell you it is built in the 1970s, but don't tell you the appliances are from the dinosaur ages as well. Their maintenance man quit, so when we had a leak we had to wait a few days for someone to come look at it. The leak was bad. The walls are so thin and poorly insulated that in the winter it is freezing. It is either one extreme or the other. Hot water is a joke. It only lasts about 10 minutes and when it is hot, it's not really hot enough to wash dishes by hand. I moved here, paying higher rent out of all the other places with the reputation that this complex was one of the best in Shawnee. This is a lie. We wanted to choose a place to live for the next 2 or 3 years, and that will not be happening. We have already started applying other places. If you want to pay $750-$800 a month to live in a 2 bedroom apartment that has issues, go ahead. I suggest going to Ashford even over this complex. I give it a 2 star because it isn't entirely ghetto. It is relatively quiet, and you don't have issues of crazy parties and drugs like you do in some of the places. This could be a great place if they would update. Also we have and to pay over $300 to get the bottom of our car replaced because we hit a spot in the parking lot that was raised really high turning into our reserved spot. The parking lot is really messed up and needs repaired and updated, like everything else. Either update or lower the cost.

As the title states, the apartments themselves are good on the inside (minor issues with plumbing on occations but nothing huge). The lawn is well kept and the neighbors are overall a pleasure to live around. The only big problem is the parking lot which has spots that could damage your tires if you were driving too quickly through the parking lot (deep pot holes and jagged concrete). Note I said "quickly" and not "fast". The difference is that even driving at slow speeds if you are moving at any more than a snails pace in two spots you can expect to feel like you're rock climbing.
