I have lived at this apartment for easily 5 years now. I have been here since it was Balaye Apartments. I've seen neighbors come and go. The one thing that is consistent is the management. Even though the management has changed over time. I can always go to them with a concern and with fairness and respect is has been handle. I've always stated that I will not move from these apartments until I'm ready to move to a house. The new management is very interactive with the residents here hosting events for us to enjoy with our neighbors and family. I recently took an issue to them that effected me financially, not only did the resolve my issue but being understanding they also help me with that financial burden. I greatly appreciated that because it could not have come at a better time. The absolute only reason why I did not give a 5 star is because the one change that I did not like with the most recent management change, they told us we can not have charcoal grills any more on our balcony. I us to have 3 charcoal grills, one for me and one each for my two sons. I pride myself on having those days where we could drag our grills out and bar-b-que. Now we have to share the two gas grills at the club house with or course the other residents. Obviously it turns out to be a "first come first serve" situation. So I don't like that. I'm a charcoal man anyway as will my boys ;-D Needless to say I had to get rid of all 3 of our grills. I understand why they took it away but I don't agree with it. I sure hope they change that back some day.
Probably one of the cheapest places in the area that isn't dirty or cheap looking. I've only been here a year but I am not renewing once my lease ends. The pond and the walk is great and scenic, and the apartments are spacious. The residents consists of professionals, young adults/students and families. My biggest complaint would be some of the students as they can be very noisy with their guests and parties. I have woken up multiple week nights to drunk people and "loud cars" as if they were to prove a point. Walls are pretty thin, I hear my neighbors frequently as well as people holding conversation outside. The traffic off Falkenburg is worsening also with the major developments making it a pain to get home/get out during certain hours. I'm also disappointed with the gym as they mention it as an amenity but half the cardio machines are broken and the weight machines are in awful condition due to some people having a large ego. Pool is beautiful, pond is beautiful, the crown molding *can* be beautiful but I've got some shoddy work in my rooms unfortunately. I guess if you're on a budget and can deal with the traffic, then this place is for you. Otherwise, keep looking.
Our apartment is spacious and the complex is in a convenient location but our upstairs neighbors are loud and inconsiderate. The floors are not built to muffle any except the slightest sounds. There are heavy footfalls, dragging of furniture, banging of items on the floor, drumming of God knows what and this goes on almost the whole day., most nights until past 10 PM. Once when we banged on the wall because there was some kind of rhythmic pounding on the floor that went on for more than 7 minutes ( I timed it), they pounded more loudly in response, so my husband and I left for a walk to de-stress. I work the whole day and I expect relative peace and quiet in my home in the evenings. My husband (retired) is home the whole day and he looks tired when I come home because of the constant barrage of noise from upstairs. We have requested, twice,in writing, to the management staff that they remind our upstairs neighbors to be more mindful of where they are, but to no avail. I am not aware if it was even addressed. We've had no feedback.
