PROS: Everyone in the leasing office was nice. CONS: The neighbors were awful, I was robbed on multiple occasions, and my personal favorite - the place is literally filled with bed bugs. They were there PRIOR to my move in and I was not informed of the situation. They were still there when I left a year and a half ago. Because management refuses to treat the building all at once, I imagine that this is still a problem. Unfortunately, a unit by unit solution will never eradicate the issue. I would highly recommend asking about pest control and any problems they may have prior to moving in.
I've lived here for 3 years (still living here) - it's pretty standard as far as apartment living goes. About a year and a half ago it was taken over by new management (Thrive) who seem to be making a real effort to improve the premises and experience of living here, provided they don't increase the rent this could be a pretty good deal for apartment seekers moving forward. PROS: Really close to bus-lines, police station, North Seattle Community College, Northgate TC, Mall, Target, I-5 and Aurora Ave; The neighborhood is relatively safe (walk a couple blocks north, east or west and that could change); Management is responsive and professional the vast majority of the time; They accept big dogs! (shocked at how few complexes in Seattle do). CONS: Walls are kind of thin and they allow smoking (both of these variables could make your experience here miserable depending on who your neighbors are - lots of smokers); In the past the elevators have been unreliable but they're correcting this; WORST OF ALL, a couple of teenage boys who live in the building use the east stairwell as their own personal hotbox, bar, and urinal (seriously) - it is incredibly disgusting and consistent (at least 5 evenings and nights a week including every weekend). If I were a female I would feel very unsafe using the stairwell and as someone who wears a suit to work everyday I hate having to air my clothes out after entering or exiting the building from the stairwell (it is literally that strong). It makes you feel like you're living in college dorms - crappy college dorms or a shelter of some sorts. I have to assume management is aware of this since about once a week someone cleans up the alcohol bottles, wrappers and filling from the black-and-milds used for rolling the blunts, and sprays bleach on the dried urine (it's almost like they're cleaning up after their disgusting children). I would love it if they installed a CC-Camera or something so they could evict them - the problem has been consistent for years.
Honestly not a bad place. Everyone who goes online to write complaints are people who have botched their lease and don't know how to read. If you want a no-nonsense apartment complex I recommend them. If you follow the rules and have your s*** together then everything will be great. The grounds-guy is amazing and super helpful. The new management is working pretty hard to fix a few of the design problems of the building but I've been there two years and thought I would counteract all the whining that's going on. It's probably not the best place you can find in the city but it's definitely not worth the complaining I see on the internet.
this is the worth place i have ever lived. managers all have bad manners. doing nothing but says bullshit and all those rules. STAY AWAY
I came to look at the apartments here, and they showed me a beautiful apartment that I would be happy to live in. Except after I signed the lease and all the legal documents were in order, they gave me an apartment that looks like it was built in the 70s. Talk about Bait and Switch. This place f*cking sucks. STAY AWAY.
