I normally don't write reviews but I need to. The only reason I'm giving this one star is because there isn't an option for zero stars, or even negative stars. When I first moved in these apartments in October of 2013, they were nicely run. They were quiet and well kept, and the management was good. I stayed the first year and renewed my lease. The rent went up in 2015, this new company took over and it was the worst. They started letting just anybody in and maintenance never knew how to fix anything and when they did "fix" what was wrong, it was still wrong. The management was rude, and didn't care. They talked to you any kind of way and they lied about everything. In July of 2015 I notified them that I was buying a house and would be leaving at the end of September. I was told originally that it was fine, because there was a clause that let you out of your lease when you buy a house. I went to the office and filled out everything. Then all of a sudden, I couldn't move out, and if I did, I'd have to pay back the discount that they had given me the last year for being military and working for the Sheriff's Office..they tried to tack on all kinds of money AFTER the apartment manager gave me the go ahead to move out because she was going to move someone into my apartment. But because everyone was moving out because of the poorly run complex, and the loud noise and trash everywhere, people banging on doors loud at night and beer bottles and glass being left in front of your door, she tried to make me suffer for that. When it came time for me to close on my house and move out, all of a sudden she wasn't sure if they were moving in and that I had to be responsible for EVERYTHING. When I told her what she said, she refused to honor it, and stopped taking my phone calls and or returning them. The day I moved out, the manager and another worker continuously walked by the apartment as I packed the moving truck making little comments about there being a problem. Once I packed up and cleaned the apartment, I turned my keys in and had the girl in the office sign a piece of paper stating the date that I moved out. Here we are 6 months later and they send me a letter stating that I owe them 250$ to buy out of my lease. They never told me they were keeping a deposit or why, and they never said anything about owing another 250$. On the letter that they mailed me in March of 2016, they stated that I moved out mid October, when the letter signed from the girl in the front office stated that I in fact moved out and turned my keys in September 29, of 2015. When I called that out to their attention, the comment was made oh, they just put that date on there. Now I am being harassed by a collections agency for not only the 250$ they are trying to make me pay, but for 314$. According to Louisiana Regulations, they have 30 days to notify me of why they are keeping my deposit and why they are charging me 250$. Neither happened until 6 months later. I tried contacting corporate on them. I emailed them in 2015, and have called on several occasions and left messages to no avail. My next step is taking them to court, and contacting the attorney general. These people are grade A crooks. Don't get envolved, run far away.
I was living in these apartments for 2 years. The maintence doesnt fix anything right. The managers on the property are getto. They never can give you a real answer. I wouldnt reccomend anyone moving into there run down apartments. Gretchen is very nasty and rude.
Great Place to live very quiet, well kept and clean, actually my apt still looked brand new! Maintenance are good at fixing things within 24 hours! Neighbors are quiet however I wish my rent was cheaper but who doesn't want cheaper rent
