I thought I'd write a review to offset all the negative ones. After all people tend to write these only when pissed off. Northpark is much like any other complex. It depends who your neighbors are and your unit location. I'm near the freeway, it's a bit loud if I have all the windows open but it's a steady sound I don't mind. My neighbors across the hall had a dog that would bark day and night, I complained and the building management gave them 3 days to remove the dog. I suspect others complained as well for this prompt response. The staff has always been friendly to me and respond pretty quickly. The unit itself is nice and when we had a problem with our fridge they responded quickly and replaced it. So that's been my experience. I wrote a review about a year ago about my first month here. They really have improved, because the maintenance people then simply would not respond. That being said, I've never lived anywhere that the maintenance people actually were quick.
I have serious problems with my 1 bedroom. For the last 4 months cigarette smoke is entering into my unit thru the kitchen vent and various openings but Northpark Apartment is not doing anything to prevent this problem. I was informed that a new tenant moved in since this started and there is nothing they can do about it. My eyes and throat are itching, I have headaches for inhaling irritants and second hand smoke plus coughing, mucous, swollen and inflamed tissue. The place (corridors, parking lot, etc.) and the apartment got smells from others apartment like food smells, broken sewers not maintained, etc. But the cigarette smell is the worse for the health problems that I have plus I cannot sleep at night or I waked up in the morning when the cigarette smell starts getting into my unit from the neighbor(s) smoking.
Really liked the way the staff dealt with a particular issue that I had here. They were very polite and friendly. Took the proper steps in being sure the situation won't happen again... At least lets hope not lol...the downside is the Upstairs neighbors are very loud when they walk around... Idk even how they manage to be so loud! Haha. All in all, pleased with them so far.
Since moving in, I had been feeling very sick. Thought it was nothing but got worse. Turns out, 3 different mold infections among other issues were causing it. Doctor confirmed and even told me that many of their patients have issues attributed to Northpark. Staff will argue that no smells bleed from other units and argue about having work done after hours. The fumes were so bad that I had to rent a hotel room one night. The staff denied everything even tho other residents complained and I had photos. Do NOT move in to these apartments. Studio: 1995$ (new carpet but old paint and was not clean upon move in, they said "opps"), 150 water/utility bill per month (insane!), power bill 28$. Save yourself and your health! Do not rent!
OUTRAGED by the misinformation, lack of responsibility, incompetence, and lack of empathy of the office staff. During our first visit, we were given a quote for a floor plan that we weren't able to actually see because they were all lived in at the time. However, we liked the floor plan and signed the lease on a unit that was coming available for that floor plan. When we picked up the keys, it was the WRONG floor plan than what we were told and what we signed our lease based off of. When we complained about the bait and switch, they took no ownership, claiming that the person who gave us this quote & lease, no longer is employed there and that they can't prove that we are telling the truth, or that she had promised us a specific floor plan. How the f*** can you tell us we are going to have one floor plan, give us another, and then take no responsibility for it. They gave us no viable options either. They said we could move into the floor plan we originally thought we had in a months time, with a $200 increase in price. RIDICULOUS! I saw all the previous reviews about management before, but I thought it would't matter too much, but if you give us the WRONG APARTMENT, that is a HUGE issue!! DO NOT LIVE HERE. Not worth the hassel...(parking is terrible too if you have more than one car).
