I lived here for almost two years and I'm leaving this review after moving out. I left because I moved for work. I've seen many changes in the office staff and as of this review, they are the best of all the people that have worked there while I lived there. A new owner just took over and things have improved A LOT since. They fired all the old managers, who were pretty rude, and replaced them with some really nice people. The office and maintenance crew are definitely courteous and attentive. However, I still have to give the place a bad review even though I hate doing that. Pros: -If you keep your place in decent shape, you'll actually get some of your deposit back (I still recommend replacing stuff like shades with your own cash for about half the price). -Nice apartments - pretty spacious, good sized closets, newer appliances -Pool areas are nice -Good walking parks in middle and at entrance, sports field within walking distance, dog park -Lots of stores very close -Easy access to HWY 151 -Very quick maintenance -A/C works very well Cons: -Very thin walls, you'll hear everything. I had very loud neighbors the whole time. My whole ceiling shook when they walked (or stomped), they threw parties until very late on week nights, and the dudes were always yelling and throwing things. Pretty bad. For some reason, no matter who lived below me, there was always someone with a huge sub-woofer that liked to drop the bass and blast action movies. The guy next to me had a headboard and a girlfriend. Do you wanna know how I know? -I've still heard gunshots and helicopters despite trying to pay a lot to stay out of areas like that. There was a rash of vehicle break-ins as I was moving out -Gates are always broken -Parking sucks. Enjoy paying extra. -Kitchen in the biggest apartment is set up poorly. Lots of open floor space, no counter space -Don't buy the "upgraded" apartments. They just use different looking stick-on floor panels and the marble they advertise in their demo apartment/office does NOT get used. It's a huge waste of money. -A lot of people moved in and out in the short time I lived there. I don't know specifically why, but I'd guess they had trouble making ends meet. -TRAFFIC IS TERRIBLE. You are surrounded by stores and highways. Most days driving to work there is substantial traffic (45 minutes on 151 start to finish) (forget 1604) Culebra and 1604 intersection is terrible all the time, but the Culebra and Westwood loop intersection is even worse (ESPECIALLY ON WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS) It can take up to ten minutes just to leave the block. -On the way out, I was paying around $1200 for renting the large apartment with two carports. It all adds up to quite a bit. All in all, I think this place is trying to pretend it's worth more than it is. It's really a decent place, but it's not worth the rent. That's why it gets two stars. Sorry folks.
I have been living here for about 6 months now. I did not like it for first 3-4 months, that was because of the manager. She had no control over the staff whatsoever. People working in the leasing office never really treated me like a customer until last month. They have a new manager now and things are much better. The same people working there suddenly started greeting me, entertaining and taking action against every concern that I have. I was surprised and then found out about new manager. The only issue is AVOID ground floor if your patio is facing the woods, apatments in the back. You will have tremendous amount of problem with flying bugs, insects crawling into your apartment. And you cant do anything about it. Another issue I am facing is people living above me, I have no idea what they exactly do but my ceiling wont make so much of noise unless their goal is to annoy me. They wake me up at 5AM every day, every time they are in the apartment my ceiling is shaking, plus it feels like they are hammering on their floor and walls. I talked to them nicely for 3 times so far but they just dont care. Lets see how does management help me now. They also are loud while watching TV, their subwoofer really shakes the entire apartment. This is a very nice community, everything is on walking distance. Its clean, maintenance will be taken care on the same day. Now leasing office staff is also much better. I will recommend to anyone as long as your neighbor is ok, you are in safe hands.
I living here for 2 and half years would . Moved cause I was ill. But now am better and thinking of living there again. Loved it there ,nice and quite . Only complain is parking ,wish they are arrange to your apartment number.
I lived here for 9 months and for the most part it wasn't bad. Maintenance was acceptable. What really upset me and the reason why I will NEVER RECOMMEND you to live here is they constantly try to charge you for extra stuff. Its like living with Time Warner. I had to get a collection account removed from my credit report after I moved out with ZERO MONEY OWED, yet they still claimed I didn't pay $250. AVOID!!
Well I've lived here for 1 year and they keep changing managers. The most annoying thing is that there are dog owners that walk thier dogs and they don't pick up the poo. So you cant ever walk on the grass cuz you may step on something. Also when you ask the office to fix something they take about a month before you see results. But the office is quick to penalize you when you do something wrong. Wish they were that quick to fix all the thing that are wrong around the apt.property..
