Smh this apartment is cute, it comes with a few renovation, washer and dryer, my building is quite, parking is not bad and there are no people hanging outside my building BUT the gaint centipedes ARE A PROBLEM. This is my second time living here. I lived here back in 07.. There were centipedes then too. I guess its because the building is old but my child and I are afraid for our lives! We just finished hunting one down a few minutes ago :( I didnt want to move here but I was sure they would rent to me. Also I put in a maintenance request 2-4 weeks ago to fixed a few different things, no sign of maintenance yet! I will be following up for the second time soon but you know Im actually complexed about having the maintenance team in my home because I dont really trust them. I want to try to tuff it out but Im not sure if I should even finish unpacking or not because I would rather get out of here! Centipedes are soooo scary!!! Help me.
11 north is horrible I repeat horrible. It's a roach infested apt. Thin walls, poorly insulated Windows, always smells like gas, and maintaine never responds in a timely fashion. My refrigerator stopped getting cold and it took a week for somebody to come out all of my food had spoiled and nobody replaced my food or reimbursed me. Smh. Not to mention there is never anywhere to park. Don't come home with a car load of groceries because you'll be walking at least 8 buildings down before you get to yours. You can always hear your neighbors , at anytime. There's been several time when my water wouldn't get hot in my shower or anywhere in the apt for that matter, who wants to take a cold shower. When it rains the side walks leading to your building are completely flooded no matter if it drizzles . The tub has mold all in it that they paint on top of it. Then the paint chips after 2 weeks and there's the mold. Awful place to live
Cold and astronomically high utilities. Your water bill will be at least $50 monthly sewer appox $45 and the $5 admin fee EACH month, for a family of three. So your best bet is to not disclose the true number of family you will have because most of the tenants have excessive occupancy but lease as one or two persons only. Which means the honest people with a family of 3 or up pay for tose that lie on their lease. Electric bills and gas come in about $100 EACH monthly. Thats only if you are diligent and put plastic over all your windows AND a barrier curtain at the kitchen which is as cold as a garage. Not to mention a curtain at t living room to retain the heat in the bedrooms. There is NO insulation underneath the building. So your best bet is to get an upstairs unit. I lived here one here back inthe90's upstairs and had none of those issues. Things structurally have gone down. You will deal with your apartment filling with gas intermittently when you use the oven because it's from the 60's , frozen pipes AND laundry gray water lines. Your neighbor"s nasty laundry water may over flow into your kitchen and flood it like mine did. You will deal with peeling lead paint and may have to get your children led tested after the paint cracks to expose the old crumbled led paint because ignorant maintenance guys come in with a hand scraper and paint bucket to fix the lead issue knowing full well they are only supposed to fix that issue after quarantining the area and using a HEPA filtered vaccum. Not to mention the city will only respond to your complaints if they find that your kids have lead poisoned to aHIGH enough level, there from. Bugs bugs bugs. No roaches or mice but GOOD Lord huge spiders coming in through the drafty Windows along with creepy crawlers constantly congregating in the joints of the walls and creeping over your Roms. Basically you have to vaacum them out everyday. If you are a light sleeper you WILL be awakened every night from you neighbors upstairs activities Weather that be them having sex, or simply walking around quietly. The floors are made of old clapboard and Creek and pop like crazy both upstairs and down. Feral cats live under the crawl spaces and "good Samaritans" yank off the vent covers on each building to give them shelter. That all being said they will take you if you have bad credit without no rentals issues. Section C is the quietest because they put all the potential knucklehead s closer to the rental office. Security is fantastic. Section C is extremely quiet. Don't bother paying the pet fee or rent the place is so huge they never check and the maintenance staff is so over worked they could care less about reporting. The Maintenance supervisor is a jackass with fantastic workers that are under appreciated. Front Office staff is fantastic and always professional and Courteous. The property managers is friendly when moving you in or you tell them you are moving out, otherwise she makes appointment s and then when you appear on time she delegates to the office staff and refused to call you back. Overall this was a descent place to live if you are recovering from credit issues. But you will PAY excessive utilities. To renew your lease they go up approx $50. Which couples with the horrible drafty windows and doors, is undoubtedly why they have a high turnover.
Only been living here for 2 weeks & had to put in many request for maintenance smh they are never on time to do anything & i have a PEST PROBLEM! claiming they sprayed for roaches smh but don't see a change anywhere! it may not be many but its still SOME .. once my lease is up im outta there! I don't recommend anyone to move here
