Let's get this out of the way first. It isn't cheap. No property in the Prometheus Group is. You get what you pay for though. The amenities are great and the staff is wonderful. Everyone is so friendly. I will say that the staff isn't always responsive to my requests but they have a new building coming up so I understand that things get busy. The atmosphere is so pleasant that it makes up for it. The staff also went out of their way to make me feel welcome and to make my transition seamless. At this time construction is going on and I have noticed that the workers can block some parking spots. You will definitely have a sense of pride living in this or any Prometheus property. The location of Madrone also plays a key role. It's close to downtown Mountain View and has easy access to the 101. From what I have seen, everything is being updated in all Prometheus properties and it's so refreshing to see a complex that is up to date. I will edit this as I continue through my lease.
I have been here for about 2 months now and I like it. It is pretty quiet and green. The staff is very helpful and prompt especially Amanda. There is some construction going on but i have never been affected by noise or dust etc. Walls are definitely thin therefore no loud music else it will disturb neighbors. But I have never had any problem with the noise in the night. I was initially concerned with the ratings for this apartment but once i visited the office i liked the staff and the community.
Prices fluctuate drastically; buildings and appliances are old; maintenance is hit-or-miss. Lots of trees, though, and the outdoor environment is pleasant. Some of the apartments are a little too close to the train tracks.
I've lived here for almost a year and am very happy. Our neighbors are pretty good and our building is only one story so there is no one above or below us. The only frustrating thing is that there is frequent construction, which is also a pro. They are constantly trying to make the place better. Julio, at the main office, is really friendly and easy to talk to. He's also really knowledgeable and is usually able to answer my questions. The rest of the staff is a little frustrating, but over all not to bad. Also the hot tub was out for over two months, with out any really explanation. They do have barbecue pits and small get togethers, which is nice. The rent does not include utilites, even water and garbage. I was a little concerned about this, but with utilities our two bedroom is still only 1600, which is pretty typical. The area also feels really secluded, my friends jokingly call my house the "log cabin" and I love it. The laundry facility is not coin operated, it is cards you can load with money. I think this is pretty convenient (unless you lose the card) but think one stink is that you have to pay five bucks just to get the card. Also there is almost always a washer or dryer available and I think they are even starting to put them in some units. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to move in.
The price is very high. The apartments are too close to the train tracks, very noisy in the evening. The building is too old, in 1960s, and works poor in reducing noise outside. I regretted the first week I moved in.
