The management at this place is absolutely third class. They will make you pay for stuff when you move out, for which you are not even responsible. My friend paid $675 for bed-bug treatment which were introduced by Summerset folks themselves (obliviously unintentional). They gave him an initial report when he moved out from pest control experts saying the apt was fine. The they retracted the final report and added these charges a week later. I would never recommend these apartments to anyone.
STAY AWAY FROM GABLES SUMMERSET!!! WORST OF ALL APT THAT I LIVED IN SAN DIEGO. This apartment is definitely not for family. Management is super crazy. This is the only apartment where getting electricity bill for 400$ and water bill for 200$ for 2B/2B is common. lived here for 6 month and all through out my stay , i either had to call maintenance folks or fix it myself.and lost of my Peace of mind. When i move in: 1)The carpet was so full of pet hair and reported to leasing office. they said, they will fix, but its not. and i hope they will never for future resident . 2)the water leakage in the toilet bowl and in the bath tub is annoying . maintenance folks does not fix it proper. And i am tired of reporting it . 3)when i call for the emergency maintenance , nobody showed up . 4) when i reported my first month electricity bill if $450 and asked to them check the AC (its during sep) , they said AC is working fine.and eventually the suggestion i got is:close the vent in the living room and use it in the bedroom. Come on, Is this centralized apartment ? Without running AC , the daily electricity usage/day is around 20kwh . Trust me, i just moved to the opposite apartment complex and with running AC , my electricity usage is within 10kwh. 5)the apartment in general gets very very dusty , its as if you don't stay under shelter. Again, the apartment i live now in same area ,it does not get dusty. Not worth any penny in staying in this apartment. This apartment sucks sucks sucks!! definitely sucks!!! added Value: They charge you for everything when you move out as if they renovate on your name.
Not worth the money to live here, it really isn't. On top of that the rest increases anywhere from 50-75 bucks every year and you don't automatically go month to month. The water is also very expensive, about 80 bucks each month. The apartments are old and the amenities are great but you never use them as much as you want.
Would give zero star if I could. The complex actually looks quite nice so it is a huge shame that customer service is terrible. I was told to stop by "at any time" on Saturday to view available apartments. I get there around 1.50pm on Saturday and the leasing office was having a pool party and I was told to come back after 3pm. Needless to say that didn't happen.
I wish there is zero star rating that I can use. I parked my motorcycle in the parking lot shared by community. I did not ride it everyday. One day, i could not find it. I almost called police. Later I found out that it was our dearest apartment management team called towing company to tow my bike away. Stay away from this apartment !!!!!!!!!! Update: Manager showed me the leasing agreement: - Any un-authorized vehicles will be tow away - include vehicle with flat tires, expired registration. Well there are 30 pages of agreement - good luck!!! Sign at your own risk.
