I lived here from 2012-2013. The apartments are extremely small, the bedroom width wise has enough room (barely) for a queen size bed and a night stand on each side, length wise, it is long enough for the queen size bed and nothing else, forget about trying to get a dresser in there. The bathroom access is in the bedroom. The kitchen, or rather half kitchen is a joke, and breakfast bar hit me at knee level. As others have mentioned, the residents are made up mostly of disabled people, alcoholics / drug addicts. The walls are incredibly thin, I have heard my neighbors fighting, having sex, and smelled cigarette smoke seeping in through the walls as well. During my time there, we had 4 different management companies, I did not experience any roach problems, although I heard from neighbors that they were severe. Way too little apartment for the price you pay..
I have lived here for more than 4 years and love it ! The lake view is great and we are close to everything ! Beaches ,parks, shopping. We've had our ups and downs with some changes in management, however our current manager is by far the best we've had. We most certainly do not have roaches, pest control is weekly, monthly, bi-monthly which ever you choose. crack addicts and drunks do not infest our community. Lori has worked hard to make this a peaceful place. Unlike the team before her who did nothing but rent to the drunks and addicts in the first place ! Kudos to Lori Lemons taking on the task of giving us back our little piece of paradise and for making this a nice place to live. She deserves more support from us all and many thanks. Good things are happening here !
At first glance, these apartments seem perfect....1 mile from the beach...nice lake view...good location...utilities included. However these things don't make up for it's shortcomings. First, the entire complex is infested with german roaches and I have confirmed this with several current and former residents. The property management refuses to do anything about it...sure the pest control guy comes every 3 months....but the company is too incompetant to handle a roach infestation of this magnitude. I had them come spray 3 weeks in a row and the roaches just laugh at us. Completely unacceptable for a complex that charges $800 a month for rent. Second problem is the walls are paper thin....I get the pleasure of hearing my neighbors every movement. And if I try to watch TV at night people complain about me even if I watch at a low volume. Third problem are the residents...the majority of them are drunken veterans, crack addicts, and mentally handicapped folks who leave shopping carts all over the property, steal your laundry from the laundry room...and stare at you when you walk by. Finally, the leasing manager Lori is a sociopath who talks down to you like you are some peasant...and I've never had a conversation with her that wasnt extremely awkward. Unless you are desperate or don't mind sharing your home with roaches...do not rent from here!
I lived at castilian for two years 1st year was good 2nd was a nightmare. They got a new apartment manager named Tony...psycho big time. The dude is crazy going around trying to start stuff with everybody. Just trying to find something wrong. I had a friend come to spend the weekend with me and he come banging on my door at 11 o'clock at night asking who was in my apartment. One nite I ran out to get something out of my car he was out leaning on my car asking me what I was doing in the parking lot n started giving me a hard time. The dude is wacked out. I could go on and on story after story but I have better things to do just wanted to give u guys the heads up. Hopefully they got rid of tony the bolonie lol
