My boyfriend and I lived here for about nine months, and I don't think that I would recommend it. In case you don't want to read the whole review, let me sum it up: too expensive, management is unhelpful, in a nice neighborhood, close to a lot of nice things. Okay, here we go. The office staff is nice, and when we were signing our lease they were very helpful and responsive. After that, if we needed something they did not deliver. For example, when we first moved in we were told that the recycling was picked up three times a week. Ours wasn't getting picked up, so we called the office. They said they would get it taken care of. Fast forward to our move-out date nine months later, and our recycling has probably been picked up a total of three times. The other incident that bothered me was that our storage unit got broken in to. The person who did it used a crowbar, which visibly damaged the doorframe. We asked them to fix it, so that people wouldn't, you know, see a damaged door frame and think, "Cool, it will be super easy to break in there!" And they never did it. Luckily, we never had too many problems with anything in our apartment, so management's assistance wasn't needed. Additionally, I didn't realize until we moved out that we were getting gouged on our rent. We paid around $850 a month for a one bedroom apartment. Yes, it was newly remodeled, but I don't think it was nice enough to pay that much for the tiniest apartment in the world. If we had renewed out lease, they would have raised our rent to around $880. We now have a two bedroom apartment that is about twice the size for $960 a month. We were unlucky enough to live under some very, very loud people who had yelling matches nightly and played music so loud that it shook the vents in our ceiling (my favorite was when they played Take Me To Church on repeat for an hour). I think this is just something you have to deal with in most apartments, but in our new apartment, our upstairs neighbors have a bunch of little kids, and we hardly ever hear them. Just saying. Other than that, it was a quiet community, and the park and surrounding neighborhood were nice. It's close to two grocery stores, which is really nice, and Cottonwood Heights is right around the corner. Trader Joe's, Target, a movie theater, and a ton of restaurants are all within a few minute's drive.
Lived here 5 years like them but construction was terrible and still not done. Lighting in parking lots almost non existent and it is always covered in ice during the winter. They are extremity high priced for the size and out dated. You don't get any kinda incentive to stay. My neighbors are loud and disrespectful but nothing is being done. Mindy the office manager is friendly but the rest of staff very rude. It's gone down hill the last 3 years. We would have moved out but could not when the lease came due.
An Honest Review: I'll start with the GOOD; I love the free recycling service! The office staff is stellar! :-) Maintenance issues are almost always resolved the same day. The not so good; The two bed, two bath has limited space in the laundry "room"- our washer/dryer barely fit and we had to remove a door so that my brother could have access since his door wouldn't open with the dryer in the way. We hung a curtain to maintain his bathroom privacy. Lastly, the bathtubs are so small and so LOUD. Your every movement can be heard with a loud creak. You can also hear when your neighbors and roommates are in the shower. Just an annoyance is all.
Mindy is such a sweetheart! The office staff is so much fun and they always make me laugh! I feel so blessed to live at such a wonderful complex. No worries and no problems. The application process was so easy and the staff was so quick to answer any of my questions! plus, I can walk to Vasa gym get drunk at Iggys and go see a movie at the theater all within a 2 block radius!! This is the life!! god bless everyone!!
What can I say about living at Promontory Point? As a resident for over 2 years now, I say that it is a wonderful place to live! Being originally from North Florida, it was important for me to find a residence that in some way reminded me of home. Promontory Point and High Point Park does just that with the beautiful mature trees, the canopied sidewalks at the park and the maintained lawns. Plus the location is good for shopping. PP allows its residents to reside in a secure location that is peaceful and friendly. Management and maintenance is fantastic, Mindy and her staff are the best! Promontory Point gets 5 stars from this happy resident, Meli Smith
