I would give them 5 negative stars if it was an option. I have been renting apartments since 2007 and never ever ever had bad experiences like I had at overlook. The manager is a lady who hates literally every one. She discriminates races in an obvious manner. I know as a fact that some of our neighbors complained about her to the corporation and they acted like they already know!! She is Filipino ( and no offence to Filipinos since my best friend and my sister in law are from there), but she just likes her people. The employees are usually very disrespectful and they don't consider your privacy at all. whenever you enter their office you get a vibe that "why are you here bothering us" . you would feel like you are an inmate and they see you as a trouble. Amanda's and Sara's attitude is just very disrespectful . The way they talk gives you a bad feeling. Amanda is also very very loud and when you ask a question she would answer back with yelling regardless how many people are sitting there. (Hope she doesn't have any hearing problems cause otherwise I would feel really bad ). Any ways I would never recommend this place to anyone. If you are looking to have peace just stay away from them.
I definitely wouldn't recommend renting here; this is not the "luxuary" apartments that they advertise! At best it is an overpriced, mismanaged, (though pretty) college dorm. The gyms were under construction for much of the time I was here and the tennis court/ golf course are in a sad state of disrepair. The management in the leasing office is exceptionally RUDE and INCOMPETENT --prefering to point fingers rather than address issues. The website is horribly maintained, though they want everything to be managed from there (probably so that the rude management staff don't have to do any face to face work with the tenants.) The culture of the property has the feel of a college dormitory with cars racing in and out of the parking lots at full speed, loud parties spewing forth inconsiderate drunks until 3am, tenants who stomp/ yell constantly in their apartments and others who leave huge piles of dog poop and garbage sitting right next to waste disposal bins. The property is also extremely wasteful and was constantly watering all summer, despite constant warnings across California about the seriousness of the drought AND their own property signs saying that they were conserving water. The units themselves have all of the trappings of a luxuary apartment but upon close inspection look as though they were put together by a high do-it-yourselfer. Finally, the pricing --while comparative to other luxuary communities in the area at first signing-- goes up astronomically after the first lease is up, increasing to at least 20% of market value. Overall Overlook at Blue Ravine doean't even remotely live up to its own hype. The only really positive mentions about this property are the pools (they just put in a new one), the maintenance staff (usually friendly and quick), Sarah in the leasing office (she is a gem and deserves a better job) and the walking paths which are admittedly beautiful. NONE of these things make up for the: negatives about the other tenants, the blantant lying about the properties eco-friendly practices, the shoddy craftsmanship in the units, the price or the aweful experience with management. Do yourself a favor and find another complex.
Thees eez the most scary place to leev. There is no cheese in the fridge, only fat rats. What khappens when you khav no cheese but fat rats...you get problem. oh and naybors throw rocks at the goats from the goat trail nearby.
The apartment itself is kind of okay. Not the greatest equipment (ie washer is very small, fridge is old). Advertise a gym, a pool, and a tennis court. Gym is actually not bad but ALMOST NEVER accessible because it can only be entered through the gate to the swimming pool and the swimming pool is closed most of the time. In the past few weeks, pool has been closed about 75% of the time which means the gym has also been closed. Tennis court is advertised -- it sucks. The surface is terrible and there is no wire fence on one side so get ready to hit balls into cars or other apartments. The lights are ineffective in illuminating the court. There is an 'activity center' with weights that is open 24/7 but it has only one elliptical machine (creaky and old) and only one stationary bike (which does not work). The staff is nice but these issues don't get resolved despite requests.
The apartment units themselves are very nice. Each building is a little different, so it depends on your apartment. The rent and utilities are pricey. Month to month after lease is up is VERY PRICEY. They take care maintenance pretty quickly.
