These apartments have so much potential. The management & maintenance have always been great with us. I love the grounds here & the complex is quiet. I wish there was storage space. The apartments are spacious but there is a lot of useless space where a pantry & storage room could be. There are a lot of rules that's hard to keep track of. I don't like having a sticker on my door saying I have a pet. I really don't care which neighbors have pets or not. Or if the pet is registered with the office. Just clean up after your dog, which most do. I don't like the one-way street which is clearly wide enough for 2-way traffic. There's a rule on how to take the trash out. Really? Now we can't decorate our windows for the holidays. Every apartment complex around here allows their resident to decorate but not here. It's becoming less enjoyable to live here. This place could be a great place to live if some minor changes happened.
I've leased here for two years. I have loved it here, It's nice, spacious, and quiet. I've never had any issues with sound from others. In fact it feels like your own little mini house. I love how big the rooms are. And everybody is very friendly. They keep the property nice and clean. It's very comfortable. I always thought the staff was very friendly. Until recently, I put my notice in (they require 60 days) and when i did so i was told that if i changed my mind all i had to do was let them know and they would see what they could do. I wasn't planning on it as i work in ogden and wanted to live closer to work. Well i was given an opportunity to stay in layton. I asked if i could cancel my notice but they had already leased my place. That's fine i understand....it's when i asked if i could possibly transfer to a different unit that I was given the "sorry there is nothing i can do for you" line. I loved this place and was very reliable on my rent etc. and now I am leaving feeling like they could care less about their tenants. It's all about the bottom line. Besides this happening i really enjoyed my stay.
I really like it here. Theres a few yappy dogs and the new manager is a priss. But overall its a nice place. If you have pets its a little pricey to get them in but worth it over a fine. Nice pool and complimentary cookies!!
I lived here for 2 years and I loved it! I loved the fact that we didn't have to worry about the utilities, they were included in the package that came with the property. They never changed in price, so it was really easy to budget. I think the community is very well kept and the people are nice. The staff in the office is awesome! They make you feel like you've known them forever and they are always willing to help. The maintenance staff is efficient when it comes to work orders! They have a 3 hour service policy and they really do fix whatever is broken in that 3 hours, most of the time during the 1st hour. I have referred many friends to Goldstone and they have all enjoyed it immensely! I think the only thing I didn't like was that the sink only had the one area to wash, but that is where the great dishwasher came in! I would highly recommend living here to anyone!
I posted this a year ago on apartment ratings but figured a lot of people will see the reviews on Google as well. Overall, I still would recommend other places. Goldstone Place is ok. Definitely NOT good, but definitely not bad. Update: CONS: - Got a pet and quickly realized the costs here. They charges here are ridiculous as well as the breed restrictions. - Since living here, my rent has gone up from $663 to $808. HUGE for only 2 years. - Paying for covered parking sucks and is absolutely dumb. Everywhere I've lived ALWAYS had free covered parking. - BEWARE, Goldstone charges for EVERYTHING! even for a card to use the laundry, fitness, and pool centers. Funny but necessary is the $75 fee for NOT THROWING YOUR GARBAGE AWAY CORRECTLY. Also $75 for not picking up your pets poop. - One way street thing is also bad. I've almost hit the very people who want to enforce it breaking that rule. - Heat sucks in the winter. Prepare to bundle up if you plan to live here. PROS: - The noise has died down quite a bit. Maybe all the rowdy neighbors finally needed somewhere cheaper to live. - The staff and maintenance are absolutely great. I see some people here have problems with them but for me they've been the nicest. - The size of the bedrooms are good. 07/11/2014: You get what you pay for. My roof has leaked in the same exact spot 3 times! And it took them over 2 weeks to get it patched up and fixed. Every time all they offered me was a bucket. Their "fitness center" consist of 2 treadmills (one of which is broken), Elliptical and stationary bike, and a broken cable lifting machine. A lot of maintenance and construction goes on a lot which is irritating but at least they're trying to improve the place. Overall I wouldn't recommend it and I have deterred numerous friends from moving here. It's cheap and easy to live in so if you need a budget place to live it's here. Washer/dryer units and laundry place are good. Pool and Jacuzzi are good. Staff is friendly and maintenance is as well but they never seem to fix things the first time. We lost a part of our couch because of the leak and no money was paid to compensate. Also, I've had major problems with the swamp cooler. They've come to "fix" it but it still blows a little warm. If you do decide to consider this place, do a major look over. We found dog poop under the fridge an stove from the previous renters. Our blinds were broken and there was still dog hair in the carpet. Like I said, it is cheap. The type of people reflect that. There are numerous nights I can hear couples screaming and throwing each other around. Cops HAVE been called here because of that. It IS better than Layton meadows and pepper ridge but not by much. So, again, if it's all you can afford, like me, then it is someplace you can suffer through for a bit.
