I was shown a model room since ours was being moved out of and carpet getting cleaned, etc. It was much different than what we got. The drawers in our apartment are plastic and fall out, no track system and beware there are no lights in the rooms. Also, our "lovely" lower level w/fireplace is COLD! The large room in back doesnt get above 55 degrees, with plastic on the windows and blackets taped on the west facing window. The breeze continuously breaks through the plastic and wakes me up. The front staff are super nice and they put in work orders fast. Maintenance comes out quickly as well. -Broken pation door, water marks on ceiling and holes from previous tenant. Dog poop everywhere!
I love my apartment at Olde English Village, though I've only been here about a month, and I'm moving in a couple of weeks due to an unexpected job change. The apartment's layout is lovely, very useable, and pleasant, and there is more than enough cupboard space- a luxury I've never had before! They also have wood fireplaces, and allow pets up to 60lbs. The negative things I can say about Olde English Village though are that first of all, they do not allow any additional appliances- I was told that my 5-cu. ft chest freezer was not allowed. Also, when I signed the lease, I was told that there was a $395 fee to cancel out of a lease. What I was NOT told, was that I would also have to pay for 60 more days of rent, even though I intend to move out within the next 15. If I had known how much it would cost to get out of here, I might have thought twice about signing the lease. So.... if you have a solid secure job in the area, with no chance of moving, and don't want a chest freezer, go for it, especially if you want to be able to have a Real Dog, instead of a pipsqueaker.
Staff is difficult to get along with and work with. Its their way or move out. They really don't seem to care if the tenants are happy or not as long as they continue to get their paychecks from the corporate office.
I have lived in many apt. and have never stayed at any of them for more then a year. I like this place and have no intention on leaving anytime soon.
I lived here almost 4 years ago, and recommended it to a friend. This place has gone downhill terribly since I resided here. The leasing agents are sloppy at best, and the maintenance staff makes it seem like you are an inconvenience at all times. There have been nothing but problems in the apartment. The windows are seperating from the drywall, making a very drafty apartment and a very high heating bill in the winter. The drains are always backed up. If you are so blessed to get maintenance to look at your issue, they leave the place a mess when they leave. I've tried to look for contact information on the management company, but conveniently I am unable to find anything.
