I've lived here for close to two years now. I don't really have anything to complain about. The old staff has been replaced with new staff. The neighbors are quiet, the grounds are always clean. The only thing that bothers me is that there is no fitness center yet, I was told they were building one when I moved in, but I don't see one yet. The other issue is parking. Sometimes I have to park nowhere near my apartment. I wish they would at least have one assigned parking spot.
My dad lives here & I can't thank the staff and manager Chris enough with all the help making sure the grounds are well kept and all units are running smoothly. There was a major flood in Portland and specifically here in early December that just destroyed many ground level units. My fathers apt is located on 2nd floor but still was effected in other ways and the staff at Timber Creek went above and beyond for their company as well as on a human level going above and beyond to make everyone feel safe and taken care of. I was extremely impressed with how they stepped up and handled this fast hard moving flood. I can't thank them all enough for making my dad feel safe and happy.
I moved in this fall and am really surprised at all of the negative reviews. Olivia, Travis, and Tyler couldn't be nicer if they tried (although they're all gone now, not sure what that's about? But Stephanie, Ana, and the new team seem great as well). I do agree with other reviewers that they're busy but they greet each resident with kindness and that they are each important to them. The fact that they're overly busy is Tandem Properties fault. Maybe Tandem needs to get them one more person to help them in the office cause they say they have the second largest apartment complex in Oregon so maybe upper management will be nice to them and get them some help. Just go watch them for an hour you can see they're swamped. But like I said they have been extremely polite and helpful consistently. My apartment is beautiful. It's about $100 more than I wanted to spend but it's worth it. The grounds are beautiful my bedroom and living room are humongous must be 18 feet wide. Wish the bathrooms were wider and bigger in general with more counter space but the bathtub is deep and the shower walls are cool with shelving etc. I love my kitchen, but the new wood vinyl flooring has been coming up in the kitchen and bathroom since the day i moved in like it's bubbling or something. The few things I don't love are hearing my neighbors talking through the walls, not being able to find parking, and antiquated process for applying and paying rent etc. Should be app based. It's kind of embarrassing lol oh ya and the buildings are impossible for people to find at night how hard is it to lights over the building street address number? Uh Ya its not. If you're thinking about moving here do it. It's beautiful, close to everything, nice residents, awesome management and when its warmer outside I could imagine it will be a blast with bbq's the pools huge Park like setting. Come on down y'all. Take Care, Scott Kemp
My experience at the commons at timber creek was atrocious! I moved in in July. My microwave, dishwasher, washing mashine, and cupboard door was broken. I went into the office twice and called everyday for 6 days before anyone showed up. After summer the weather turned and in the middle of winter I found mold on the walls of my living room. That quickly spread to both bedrooms and all the windows and sliding door. I was told it was "mildew" and that I needed to open my windows and run fans for at least an hour a day. In 46 degree weather I was not happy about this. However I complied and did all the the nessisary preventative measures. However. I had more mold growth in the bathroom, kitchen, bedrooms, doorways ect. I told the office I wanted them to hire a company to test the mold since it was rapidly growing and I explained that my children and I kept getting sick. They refused to do so. I said I would hire a company they refused to allow them in the building. They said they have "their guys" and still nothing happened. I asked for the name of the company they use for these sort of repairs. Well guess what? They wouldn't give it to me. I demanded to move out and had to get corporate involved due to them trying to charge me for a move out fee. Trust me that was a joke as well. Corporate refused to call me back and backed up the office staff without as much as a conversation to figure out was was really going on. I hope this helps another family not have to go through what a total PAIN this place has been. Unit number 168 Full of MOLD.
Hands down the worst place I have ever lived. Such high staff turnover in the office that no one knows anything. When you call to get information from them regarding your lease or your rent, the person who answers can never answer the question. It's crazy! When we were looking at houses to rent, they gave our new leasing company the wrong information and we were denied the house. By the time I finally got someone to figure it out and call the leasing company, the house was gone. In a tight rental market, it killed us. We were stuck signing another lease with them because we couldn't find another house. But this was after they had raised our rent by 30%!! No kidding, 30%. I see in other reviews that they deny that they raised rents so dramatically, but they did. I started out paying $1082 on a lease and now pay $1432 on a lease - not month to month. My husband asked them to negotiate but the wouldn't consider it. There are cops in the complex constantly. We called the office with a noise complaint about a loud neighbor and we were told they don't deal with them - that we should call the police. It seemed pretty irresponsible to me to respond that way. Not to mention the murder that occurred here that the management never addressed with the tenants. I thought that was totally bizarre. Even just a note saying how sad they were to loose an employee in such a way would have been reassuring. But, it was like it never happened. So weird. I see that they are also explaining that away by saying the Sheriffs department didn't want them to release any details, but a simple "we're sorry this happened" would have sufficed. Lastly, and the most annoying, is the garbage and recycling is located in one place on the very edge of the complex. You have to drive your garbage over to the garbage area. The worst part is, you set your garbage outside to take out when you leave and like magic you have a note on your door threatening a $50 fine. You don't notice that the garbage is only in one area when you have a tour because there are the old garbage fenced areas still up...just no garbage cans in them. And like other people said: no gym, dog poop EVERYWHERE, and charge a high price for no amenities. Overall, they just suck.
