My fiancee and I were moving into London House for their great pet policy. We requested to have a bottom floor patio 3 bedroom. We waited two extra months for such a unit to open up. The day before move in, I called to know what all I needed as far as first months rent and other fees. I got it all together and came in the next day with my fiancee. They then tell us we can't sign and get the key until we have KCPL in our name with a confirmation code and the renters insurance taken care of. This would have been nice to know beforehand. We were given no checklist of what they needed before move-in. Finally, I get a key while my fiancee looks over the lease. I go to the apartment and it's not even one with a patio like we requested for the dog, Also no shelving in the washer dryer area like they said there would be. We weren't going to just settle for an apartment that we didn't request after waiting two months. We asked to be refunded our first month's rent check, utility fee, and amenity fee (which we could not get back the deposit). THEY REFUSED! They tried to keep money for an apartment we declined after we had already given the key back. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! They are a clusterf***! Poor management all around!
I was UNFAIRLY charged $2000 in damages for the tenants who lived here before me. London House was happy to have me sign into a sub-let, except that I learned later that this goes against company policy. The previous tenants swore they would leave me an $800 deposit, which was actually never retained and never found. I also inherited all the damages from the tenants who lived there before I moved in. Management would not let me negotiate a reduction in these charges and would only offer a payment plan for full expenses. They would not let me have the contact information of the residents who had moved out, which meant I had no legal recourse either. If I do not pay the fees, MY credit report is charged. In short, I do not recommend living here or doing business with this company. It is a completely unethical business. I paid rent on time every month, was a perfectly quiet resident, and did everything by the book. Sucks to be screwed over by the same office staff that would not oversee the leases they signed. Management is only interested in protecting its own commercial interests.
"Fair Quality" about sums it up. My main complaint is the noise -- I-35 is literally a stone's throw from the complex, and the neighbors' parties last until the wee hours of morning, whether in the clubhouse/pool, volleyball courts, or in the apartments themselves. Living with the younger, party-hardy type demographic this complex markets to gets tiring pretty quickly -- I've even had police in my apartment looking for somebody else from another building. It's a bit nuts. My apartment is nice, though. The fireplace gives the room character, and despite the thermostat being a little weird (which honestly I never thought important enough to report), I've had very few maintenance problems. It's not $900/mo nice due to the intrusions and noise and neighbors, but it's decent. One could definitely do worse.
I lived in london house apartments for 9 months, and i moved because of military orders. i can say, without a doubt, that out of all of the apartment complex's ive lived in, the staff at this one has been the friendliest and most helpful. i absolutely loved it there!! the property is beautiful and clean, having a daycare right next to it made getting my daughter to and from daycare extremely easy, its set back away from 95th and quivira so you dont hear all of that traffic, and you dont hear the traffic from I-35 either unless its sirens going by and even then its not loud at all, very convenient location being so close to 95th and quivira, the club house is gorgeous, and the apartments are clean and well taken care of. i only needed to call maintenance once and they were at my apartment within 30min! i would recommend london house to anyone who were to ask me about it :) i was sad to go!!
My husband and I moved here with our now 9 month old twins about 3 months ago! Long story short... we were suppose to move into a different apartment complex who shall remain unnamed at this moment. We received a phone call at 9pm the night before we were supposed to sign the lease saying that they had rented our apartment to someone else by mistake. We then started looking at as many as places as possible the next day. A fellow Nolan apartment complex suggested that we come here and take a look here. Another long story short... We came here and then looked and leased all in the same day/night and moved in right away. The staff here is amazing. They are all so very friendly and always seem happy to see you when you come into the office. Maintenance is also fast and friendly I felt as if my thermostat was not working correctly and they completely replaced if for me no beating around the bush kind of service. They offer several activities and chances to get to know your neighbors. They even hosted an earth day gathering for the kids to plant and decorate flower pots. I could go on and on but Ill go ahead and wrap this up :). I highly recommend living here. We have had several family/friends tell us that they like our new place better than the house we previously rented. We are in a two bedroom 2 bath and have plenty of space for all of our things and let me tell you with twins we have a lot of stuff. We really feel at home here! If your looking for a place to live you should defiantly make a stop and look here.( I almost forgot to tell you they have a great gym, play ground, and more (can't wait to get in the pool!)
