No wonder this crappy apartment changed its name from the Millennium to Mosaic. It is 3 am in the morning and the same fire alarm that has been well documented in previous reviews has gone off yet again.. the second time in a month. Flashing lights and loud ass sirens in every room that you simultaneously bleed from one ear while going into a slow seizure. This must be what being tortured is like. I may die from the bleeding in my ear. Firemen come and the issue is not related to a fire.. (last month the issue was related to a busted water pipe). WHY IS A FIRE ALARM GOING OFF if its not related to a fire. Why is there not a feature that turns off this alarm, especially if it has happened in the past. WHY IS EVERYONE forced to listen to this noise for TWO STRAIGHT HOURS. I am not a happy camper. Aside from this complaint at 3 am in the morning there are other issues with the apartment complex: 1. Walls are paper thin. 2. They invite the trash people to come pick up trash at about 6:30 am in the morning right outside the garage entrance providing the entire apartment complex with a very nice wakeup call... that is if you enjoy getting up at the crack of dawn every Tuesday. 3. Old appliances including a dryer that I must run THREE times before my cloths dry. Talk about quality. 4. Pool that gets sun from 10am-11am. Want to enjoy the Sun in the afternoon? Why there is an awesome corner where you can stand and get a world class farmers tan. 5. Charcoal grills. 6. Poor parking situation - First floor residents must park in the first floor garage, second in the second etc. If it is full, you have to park on the sixth floor or above. However the lovely staff will just park on the first floor taking up spots. In conclusion there is better bang for your money in Charlotte. If you choose to live here, don't say I didn't warn ya.
You pay a fortune to live in these apartments that at first glance look luxurious. What they fail to mention is that you can hear everything - I hear my upstairs neighbor's alarm clock going off in the morning and every time the phone rings next door...not to mention people just walking around. Also to make matters worse, the customer service is terrible - the people who work here are haughty and borderline rude when you need them. The other apartment complexes near here seem to have better rates and my friends who live in those other properties also love their staff.
This place is phenomenal. The staff is friendly and helpful. even though the walls are thin, the amenities are great! if you're able to get past the noise is a wonderful place to be. it reminded me of connecticut very hip and trendy.
Although the apartments are pretty, the building is very poorly designed. The walls are so thin I could hear every conversation on the sidewalk outside. I was regularly woken up in the middle of the night because of loud neighbors and inconsiderate motorists. The Camden building nextdoor also had a malfunctioning fire alarm which went off in the middle of the night several times during my 3 month stay. Completely unacceptable. I considered myself lucky when I was able to sleep through the night uninterrupted. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Great living; some negatives Not sure what was up the bum of the other reviewer. have mostly positive things to say. Pros 1) Easily the best built in cabinets, flooring , painting, and appliances in any apt building in the area. Also, most models come with a built in plasma TV so you can skip on that expense. Go see their models and if you aren't convinced please post another review and tell me where it is better at the same price point. I looked at all the surrounding competitors and did not find any other complex that compared. 2) Convenient area. You are outside of the 277 loop but close enough to get to wherever you want either by walking or by the light rail. Panthers stadium, Uptown/South End dining , etc 3) GREAT STAFF. Honestly I do not understand what the other reviewer was saying as I have had nothing but good experiences with the staff. They treat me with respect, know my name, and are very understanding (this goes for the office and maintenance staff). I do know that most of the staff live here themselves so they are invested in making the community good. They have resident events every other weekend where you get free food and booze and I have not had a bad time yet. Cons 1)Thin Walls. The reviewers were right about the sound bleed between apts. While 'hearing a pin drop' is quite a stretch, I do hear my neighbor clomping around in their work shoes in the early AM. The good news is the ceilings are high and the neighbors are respectful for the most part. I haven't had to bang on my wall to ask anyone to quiet down so overall I'm content with how things are. Honestly its not worst than my last dive of an apt but I would have expected a bit more insulation for the price tag. No one will tell you straight out that they have poor insulation, and everyone says that their soundproofing is the best so ultimately this is something you will have to gauge for yourself and work out with your neighbors in whatever apt you decide to live in. 2) Other residents - While its hard to fault this against the actual apt, I was hoping to move into this place to get to know other young professionals who work uptown. Unfortunately, at here (and much moreso at The Circle across the street) there are just a ton of college age kids with less accountability than you would hope. I imagined that the price point would discourage many in that group, but then again if i was back in school and I had rich parents I would definitely get them to set me up with a place this nice. I wish they would have stricter guidelines within the move in process but unfortunately this is where it stands. If this type of crowd is something you want or you dont want, definitely keep this in mind when you are looking for a new place. 3) WORST CON - Locked in to one cable provider! Honestly, in this day and age with so much competition I am really sad that they chose to make some deal with TWC so the buildings are not wired to receive DSL/UVerse from AT&T. You have no other option than to go with Time Warner Cable for wired Internet. You may be able to do Satellite TV if you have a patio but honestly you would do better with TWC in that case anyways. AT&T is phone only and after many calls to them I believe this is the permanent situation. Total bummer. I wish they would have considered their customers first instead of locking them down to one provider.
